Solaris? That's number one on my wishlist. It would be a fantastic game to TAS.

There needs to be a TAS of Dragster for the 2600. The WR for the game was set in 1980 by Todd Rodgers and is a 5.51. Atari even made a computer to do a run of it and the computer got a 5.54. I really want to see what the absolute limit is for this game.

Probably only good for Vault, but I'd like Road Runner 2600. :) Had the game as a kid and never got passed lvl 4 I think. 8 unique levels apparently. There also an Arcade version (The original?) but never played that.

Probably do a "fastest max score" run of Taz just to say I did it. Also Dark Chambers.

Private Eye ... how could we forget? One of the most hellish mazes ever,.. not sure if only hardest case, or all 5 cases, though =P EDIT: http://www.electricfrankfurter.com/2009/07/closer-look-3.html The maps are there, experienced players say it to be IMPOSSIBLE to beat the fifth case, but all of them say they'll try again in the future .... impossible smells like an interesting TAS project.. 8D EDIT2: I could beat the first case with 0:51 remaining on the clock, and making mistakes, I would even open a topic for discussion but I wouldn't start another WIP for now, too much things going on in life >.>

Yes, do it! This is exactly what TAS is best at -- taking on the impossible and showing how it can be done. :)

Still hoping to see a Private Eye TAS someday -- as well as Porky's (which is absolutely begging for a TAS, since it can be beaten in something like 5-10 seconds) and Chuck Norris Superkicks. Solaris would be great too, as well as Starmaster.

Actually, someone has beaten the fifth case, in realtime on an actual 2600 no less! -> http://youtu.be/BPd-QIulFyE Granted, it seems to be at least as difficult as a perfect run of the original Pitfall, but at least the video shows it's possible.

Yes, standard runs are needed and very appreciated here too

Well, I'm just starting out (been lurking for a while, but I've finally decided on what game to try first in learning about the art of TASing). And I've used this avatar image on other sites to great effect. :P

https://www.theverge.com/tldr/2018/2/28/17062338/ai-agent-atari-q-bert-cracked-bug-cheat 'First, it completes the first level and then starts to jump from platform to platform in what seems to be a random manner. For a reason unknown to us, the game does not advance to the second round but the platforms start to blink and the agent quickly gains a huge amount of points (close to 1 million for our episode time limit).' Link to video Might be time for a TAS?

^Also reproduced on console, and by a human player no less. Has the exact cause of the bug been identified?

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/48019516364747335 Here is an unoptimized TAS of the Q*Bert score trick. Basically, the snake jumps into you after the level ends but before the transition to the next level. There is a roughly 5 frames window to do this. The snake is still there but below the level I guess. If it ever jumps back onto the level the stage ends as normal. So the trick is to find a pattern that keeps the snake from jumping back up. Once you find it, just repeat as long as you wish. The score rolls at only 100000, so nothing particularly unique happens once the trick is started.

Link to video Here is a Kaboom Tas from someone else that I wanted to share. I'm not sure if it should be a separate game thread though.

This is a maximum score TAS, very long but if we can manipulate the position of bombs maybe there is a way to improve this TAS (think mostly for the 3 or 2 last bombs). Then a no branch TAS would stop when the max speed is reached. On both categories, there is a way to "entertain" it.

I want to suggest the homebrew game Zippy the Porcupine. It's basically Sonic for the Atari. It would make an interestingly fast TAS I think. Link to video
