Comments
I started this TAS with the old Yabause core and experienced several sync issues, but thankfully with the new update there were no issues.
Deppy has two movement options, A for jump and X for dash. By dashing it slowly drains the fuel meter, which also happens to be the health bar too. Health management plays an important part since Deppy is constantly dashing throughout the level, therefore gas cans must be collected in order to refuel the meter.
Most levels take a path where gas cans can be collected without slowing down too much or having to scale up or down the level a bunch. Throughout the levels there are batteries which provide invincibility and zero fuel usage, these are all avoided as they take too long to regain speed.
During each platforming section it's ideal to get a dash as soon as possible, rather than waiting a bit to take out enemies. So this is why in some situations I simply plough through everything or just jump over them.
For the Boss fights charging up the fuel meter to the max provides the most damage and is faster than spamming weaker attacks over and over. When fighting Hi-Jacker it is faster to use quicker dashes since it keeps Deppy in the air and waiting for the next opening takes too long.
Final Stage: There are 7 phases to this boss, the first six start with avoiding a laser and then proceding to attack the boss two times. Some hits are delayed so that Deppy doesn't get hit by one of the weapons. Waiting for an opening is faster than getting an earlier hit and taking damge since recovering from a hit takes some time. The final hit is timed so that it skips a longer walking animation after the explosion, saving a second each time.

feos: Great run, clearly superhuman when you compare it to the RTA, and also with attention to playaround in the waiting sections. Not much feedback, but it's all positive, and the game is fast paced and pleasant, so accepting to Moons.

I'm surprised you managed to TAS a Saturn game. Every one I've tried repeatedly desyncs. I tried TASing Clockwork Knight a few months back and it desynced seven times before gameplay proper started. Edit: I wasn't aware there was a recently updated version of Bizhawk. I'll have to watch this movie back on emu and then see if I have any luck TASing other games.

Boss G-O is the best entertaining moment for me, and I'll can said more... Have you intention to make a "100%" branch? Because I'm curious, and maybe that is more entertaining! Indeed, make the star rooms can create an good surprise, I think! Yes vote

When I started TASing on the Saturnus there were no issues to get it working from memory, so I didn't have to configure or change anything. I also tried Clockwork Knight about a month ago on BizHawk 1.12.2 and no issues with desyncs. The only issues were that the text at the end of the levels were blurry and that the game just stopped working after the first boss. I had thought about going to the star rooms or maybe the drama in the levels, but decided to just stick with doing the levels as fast as possible.

This is a pretty cool/fun looking Saturn game. And it's fun to watch too. Zippy speed and lots of style to enjoy. I vote yes.
When TAS does Quake 1, SDA will declare war. The Prince doth arrive he doth please.

I wanted to see if I could play this back on emu and it worked. Admittedly, I had to mute the sound, because Saturn games don't run well on my 2010 laptop. However, I did enjoy the run and there was some really nice touches. BTW I did try TASing the first level of Clockwork Knight and there wasn't the glitched out scores at the end of the level. So I'd assume on that basis the game isn't going to crash after the first boss. Link to video

I did a quick runthrough and everything seems to be fixed thanks to the new core change. Yeah it looks good so far, I look foward to seeing this and other Saturn TAS's in the future. Also I'm glad people have enjoyed watching this game.
