Saturn, what harm does it do to you if you help the community by releasing a much-requrested file? What good will that file do on your computer for another two years without ever being touched? Is there any logical reasoning to this at all...? Sure, a lot of TASers don't always show the projects they are working on, as it can be nice to show it off as a surprise. Though in this case, there's no such logic existing. Or do you plan to do the same as with Super Metroid where you suddenly release a "Hey, I already found that years ago" video for an unlisted Youtube clip bragging about being better than others? You are just halting the development of the game for an unknown illogical personal reason. This is not how a community works, this is not how you make friends. This is how you make everyone despise you, make fun of you and eventually ignore you. Please.

This thread is derailing fairly quickly. Just answer this Saturn, so everyone can go back to whatever it was they were working on. Are you going to release the input file? Yes or no. Don't bother posting why or why not, just say yes or no. That'll pretty much tell us all everything we want to know, and anyone who wishes to say more regarding it could easily take it to PM's. As far as the TAS itself goes, I'm currently not as focused on it as I'd like to be. This can mostly be attributed to Shadow Warrior 2 and Dragon Quest: Builders coming out this week, both of which I'm heavily interested in. So progress will be slightly slow for a little bit until I'm done with one of those two games. Exception being when/if someone points out errors, because I genuinely enjoy looking into those and learning how to fix them and/or explain why they're there in the first place.

Ah! Now things make sense. Seems I have a larger view over the picture now regarding the age-old Saturn pride issue. Makes sense why I don't get his Super Metroid hack TAS input files either for which I asked few days ago via personal message. He even used the same video excuse pseudo-argument. Just so you know, Saturn, that attitude of yours is much against scientific consensus, and the teamworking communities will in the end always turn out being far superior. Universities would not accept this either, and I'll make sure to have at least all your known SM original/hack TASes obsoleted by the community, if that is what you wish by not joining the general evolving symbiotic community.
collect, analyse, categorise. "Mathematics - When tool-assisted skills are just not enough" ;) Don't want to be taking up so much space adding to posts, but might be worth mentioning and letting others know for what games 1) already some TAS work has been done (ordered in decreasing amount, relative to a game completion) by me and 2) I am (in decreasing order) planning/considering to TAS them. Those would majorly be SNES games (if not, it will be indicated in the list) I'm focusing on. 1) Spanky's Quest; On the Ball/Cameltry; Musya; Super R-Type; Plok; Sutte Hakkun; The Wizard of Oz; Battletoads Doubledragon; Super Ghouls'n Ghosts; Firepower 2000; Brain Lord; Warios Woods; Super Turrican; The Humans. 2) Secret Command (SEGA); Star Force (NES); Hyperzone; Aladdin; R-Type 3; Power Blade 2 (NES); Super Turrican 2; First Samurai. Minor update on the project progress: Megaweezl and I were discussing routing nonsense today and figured out some places to save some time, so I need to redo Tower 2 at the minimum. That being said, I'm incredibly unhappy with my Tower 1 boss, and anyone that's seen it should know why. It isn't terrible or anything, but it's far from optimal. So I may spend a week or two of my free time getting one that is much more tolerable and up to my own standards. The other option is to forget about it and just keep going from Tower 2 so this actually gets done faster. I'll run it by the people helping out with the project and see what they have to say about it. Another thing that's been pulling time away from this is me building up the gdoc information for when I do submission notes and whatnot later in the future. It's revealed a few things that needed clarification as well, so that's a plus. Once I'm done compiling said information dump, things will progress much quick and much smoother than previously. Also, and Samsara will probably enjoy hearing this, in doing the frame comparisons for certain actions/sequences, I've figured out where I was losing those 1 frame instances during basic movement areas and more specifically, how to better avoid them in the future. :) All that being said, there's still a handful of questions/concerns unanswered, but they will fall into place over time.

greetings, this is something like a progress report, in the last few Weeks i had worked a bit my Self on Terranigma Chapter 1 and have Finished Chapter 1 so far. its still all WIP , i already know how to save before i move to the Box at least 1 or 2 Frames, and my Tower 4 and cause of that Tower 5 is absolutly Messed up but sine i have to redo everything again, thanks to the dmg Rolls, i thought hey why not catching some feedback and make everything in one go Input and by the way i am not sure if anyone had adressed that properly here in the Forums so far, but you can actualy uses Edges to move 4 Pixel per frame as the usual 3 Pixel called Corner Boost, i am still not sure if there exist even a double Corner Boost, where you get this Edge push 2 times in the horizontal, with the center of Arks Sprite and its Edge well yeah thats it so far

I, uh, appreciate the signal boost, but this is definitely not the right video.

A couple things I noticed from skipping through parts of the video: The skip at the very beginning with the blue door. Have you tried jumping backwards towards the 2nd pot while throwing the 1st pot? You get hit from the Cadet in the fight in Tower 3 and from the video it seems like that took you roughly 50 frames. Instead you could try to do something else in rooms previously to adjust the RNG value to get a flawless outcome by default with hopefully less frames and possibly some additional EXP by for example killing one of the Whisps you have to run by anyway. Also you attacked a cadet in one of the rooms seemingly random to me to probably adjust the RNG value? With a possibly different RNG value you might even get a gold drop from the Cadet fight. In the Huball snake fight you just stand there doing nothing basically. You could take that time to kill all of the golden Huballs to not only gain EXP but also manipulate them to all drop some gold. Having more EXP would also lead into the free hits on the mask at the Shadowkeeper fight which saves roughly the time you take for a level up minus the textbox. It would also lead to a different pattern for Shadowkeeper which might mean that he doesn't move towards you at all. But yeah all in all this looks good to me.

about the blue door, i make a test about that, it all depends roughly on the momentum but actualy its an intressting idea about tower 3, i tested all the enemys on the way for the rng manipulation and only the one cadet i somehow hit randomly changed my rng value so that i dont need to wait 30 frames to move into the boss room. the point about the whisp is mostly that there hit box spawns very very late i have already passed by when they finished spawning and so yeah also the hit i catch in tower 3 is to manipulate the rng, i wasnt able to get a pattern with a clear rng without any fakes. ^^ and i already pointed out that i messed up boss 4 and cause of that boss 5 ^^ i thought i just get the exp from all. but i already mentioned that i have to rework everything slightly so waiting for some feedback and making it in one go is more effectiv

so i checked the blue door thing, the backwards jump isnt possible there, not enough room for the setup and also ending the jump animation takes longer as just walking backwards

Hey there since i didnt streamed so much lately i make here a quick progress update soo, i am still on reworking chapter 1 for exp route, i needed a whole week to figure out how i beat tower 3 again, i always thought that its decided when i step into the bossroom if the first is a fake or not, but actualy the moment you hit them they decide to be fake or not, that allows you to change even the first one, if needed. but still thanks to my luck and rng i wasnt able to just get the right rng values for 3 reals. so finaly found a solution and now i have just to redo tower 4 and 5 again, yeah -.-
