I used the Jabo plugin (which is the only one I can use on my PC) on Dynarec core type. I used the last 32-bit version since it's the last one to have Jabo. Also I think the red SHA does mean it's not the same ROM, I dunno what's up with that. I guess you also tested the game on GLideN64 since that's the most accurate plugin available.

Ok, I get it now, you were using "Wave Race 64 (Japan) (Rev A)", that's not the Shindou edition :P

Oh. I've been bamboozled then, the filename on the ROM I used said Shindou edition. D: Ok, if the actual Shindou version doesn't run, you might want to post your issue in the BizHawk sub-forum to see what's the problem, or just use a different version of the game instead if it still doesn't run regardless of the plugin or settings used.

Thanks, I posted it there. The game is probably just incompatible.

Championship Requirements for Normal: 1, 2, 4, 8, 12, 16 Requirements for Hard: 2, 4, 6, 10, 14, 21, 28 Requirements for Expert: 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, 23, 30, 37 Requirements for Reverse: 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, 23, 30, 37 Possible Routes: Any% Normal: Win 3 races and retire on the rest - Must win first race - Must win 2 races by end of Marine Fortress Hard: Win 4 races and retire on the rest - Must win first race - Must win 2 races by end of Marine Fortress - Must win 3 races by end of Twilight City Expert: Win 6 races and retire on the rest - Must win first race - Must win 2 races by end of Drake Lake - Must win 3 races by end of Port Blue - Must win 4 races by end of Twilight City - Must win 5 races by end of Glacier Coast Any% No Retire Must win every race. You can miss only up to 4 buoys Run ends after Expert is completed Any% No Miss Must win every race without missing any buoy Run ends after Expert is completed 100% Must win every race without missing any buoy Run ends after Reverse is completed Courses to consider: Sunny Beach, Sunset Bay, and Drake Lake are the three shortest tracks. Marine fortress is shorter on the higher difficulties. I'm not sure whether Port Blue or Twilight City is faster on which difficulty? Forget Glacier Coast. Wrap up Expert and Reverse with Southern Island

Interesting route options with the ability to retire from races and still win.

No one is going to TAS a run of Championship Mode using retires, it's just not interesting to watch a TAS skip races when you could instead see them being completed. What I would want to see is a TAS of what we RTA runners call "All Championships", where your goal is to complete Championship Mode in all four difficulties without skipping any races. That category would show off all possible track layouts and get IL records on the way, all while starting from clean SRAM. If you are interested in what the fastest track layouts are (not counting Reverse, since the game considers that to be its own category): Sunny Beach = Hard Sunset Bay = Normal Drake Lake = Normal Marine Fortress = Hard Port Blue = Hard Twilight City = Hard* Glacier Coast = Expert** Sunset Bay = Normal * Normal is not available for this track ** Normal and hard are not available for this track You should also keep in mind that the game is still running poorly on emulator at this point, with the best version (Shindou) not working at all and the others suffering from severe desync issues.
Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.
