The game
Top Gear is a racing video game for the Super NES, published by Kemco and developed by Gremlin Graphics in 1992. The objective of the game is to become the fastest driver in the world by racing other drivers across several nations. The franchise is unrelated to the TV series of the same name.
It marks the first game in the Top Gear racing game franchise, and it is one of the first racing games to be released on the Super NES. This game and its next two sequels were created by the same developers as the similar Lotus series of games released earlier on the Commodore Amiga and Sega Mega Drive systems.
The game became very popular in Brazil. It inspired Brazilian company Aquiris Game Studio to create Horizon Chase, whose soundtrack was scored by Top Gear composer Barry Leitch.
Explanation of the run cup by cup
USA
In the planning of the run, i had the idea of start with only 1 player route at San Francisco, but in the middle of the run i re-considered to start the 1 player route in Los Angeles, but it was too late
South America
In Rio, i used one nitro from the player 2 "every" lap, not in a row like other tracks
In Machu Picchu, I understood that speed is lost more slowly if only the accelerator is released, and that means that player 2 is equally efficient on this track
I not reached the 400Km/h in Chichen Itza, and it was in this track when i started to torment an AI with the other player, that is noisy
I had two routes for Rain Forest, I needed to empty the fuel tank and was not possible if i use the nitros from the player 2 to push tpe player 1
Japan
Literally i had to remake the entire cup 4 times because a bad route selection
In hiroshima, i decided to push the player 1 with a lot of impulse in the pits
In yokohama i lost 3-4 frames because some of the opponents started in different order (of my last run), and it's not pushed me at the same time
In this video i had a problem in kyoto (bad luck), i had to use a nitro one lap earlier than my planned route to avoid an opponent
Germany
Munich looks slowly because i had to use the player 2 because i needed the player 1 to Cologne
I REACHED THE 400Km/h IN BLACK FOREST
Scandinavia
Really nothing so interesting to post
France
Nice, France was difficult for the short space between the car and the obstacle. See the screenshots
Italy
In florence i had a problem to empty the fuel tank, if i wait for the player 2 to push him i will not reach to empty the fuel tank before the player 2 finishes the race
United Kingdom
I got 4:42.75 on London The fastest time ever The song did not reach to cover the whole track, I had to use another fill song
I had the same problem of the fuel tank in sheffield and loch ness

my english is terrible

feos: Upon another review, I finally decided to accept this movie. Things that look suspicious don't lead to easy improvements due to significant complexity of routing. Even if some of those places have actual flaws, and tightening them up could lead to significant improvements (possibly), implementing those improvements won't be easy, as I said. This movie is already so much better than the previous attempt, and it beats my test times.
Yet, even though this time it's way more varied and intense, it's still way too long and monotonous to keep the average viewer entertained the whole time. Accepting to Vault.
Stovent: Processing...

If you ask why I chose this emulator, it is for 2 reasons: the first one is because I have an old PC and the second one is because with the lsnes and the higan I can not disable the audio channels separately Edit: But i will use the lsnes in the future, the snes9x is only to change other music to youtube

In bizhawk dev build, the snes9x core should be available for movie recording. Test how it runs for you: https://ci.appveyor.com/project/zeromus/bizhawk-udexo/build/artifacts
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

Really i want to use a lua script to TAS Super Mario World, this version of bizhawk runs on my pc, but is so much slowly. That lua runs in Snes9x, but in the bizhawk i can't use that lua with snes9x core, but in the higan core i can use it (with 10 fps of framerate or less). With my pc is harder to use this emulator like the dolphin (lsnes will still be my next option)

Post the script.

That script is just for one game, you don't have to use bizhawk for its tases because it's unlikely they would be submittable. For projects you actually plan to submit, lsnes is an option, but please consider bizhawk with snes9x core as well.

buy why the snes9x core? Is not the bsnes most accurate?

It is more accurate, but you said it's to slow for you.

Okay, now about the movie itself. While this run is much better than the previous submission, it still looks like you mostly played it regularly with a few retries, instead of optimizing every action to gain you as much time as possible. The most obvious thing is driving in the middle or in the outer side of a curve instead of trying to cut the overall distance you travel. For every turn, you should aim to move on the innermost side as close to the grass/ground as possible, until you start losing speed (green line). If the turn is too sharp and you can't keep near the innermost side all the time, at least touch it while turning as much as you can (orange line). If you just move in the middle or on the outermost side, you simply travel more distance, losing time (red line). I tried to do this all the time in my test movies, and I clearly see you're not doing it here. Maybe it doesn't matter due to limitations of this game? I might check that. Also when you brake to allow your car to turn more sharply, you're losing speed, so for every turn that you can't clear as orange, you have to find balance between braking and releasing the X button. Then, judging by the rerecord count, you haven't optimized every gear shift to gain you as much speed as possible. Also in some places it looked like you could still bump the main player car with some nitro, but you just kept standing still or driving slowly, wasting nitro on nothing or not using it at all. You mention that sometimes you have to waste the fuel for the race to end, and you don't have time to bump your opponent, but it feels like this hasn't been tested too hard. Overall I like how this movie turned out, and improvement of several minutes tells quite clearly that the strats are way better this time around, but the problems I mentioned still stick out as sub-optimal. The reason I'm suggesting bizhawk is that you have a tool that's incredibly useful for tight optimization, as well as for movies with several players acting independently - TAStudio. It also allows you to edit your past input as much as needed, while not erasing the future events, like usual rerecording does. So if you stick to just old-school "savestates only" approach, and you aren't too good at it, you will always end up with sub-optimal movies that can be beaten easily with just better tools.

Sometimes only relasing the X button is not enough to not touch the grass in a turn

Ah, yes. The usual limitations of such a game. I've had plenty of experience in Rad Racer, and I'm pretty sure the game simply assumes a constant amount of progress around the track for any given distance traveled. The outer and inner edges are exactly the same lengths of distance as far as the game is concerned. Just think of it as simply a straight line forward, with absolutely no bends in it, and in some parts, there's a magic wave that pushes you to one side, which you need to steer against to stay on the road. Please no comments about driving in a diagonal line to compensate for the magic wave. It's a magic wave.

LOL at the video ending. I suspected that to be the case, okay. With this problem out of the way, the one that still bothers me is how the secondary player and his nitro is used. Should I point out actual timestamps where it looks strange, or you already have the answer?

You started with hard games to TAS, but you kept improving until you made it. Congrats for your first accepted submission, jmosx36!
my personal page - my YouTube channel - my GitHub - my Discord: thunderaxe31 <Masterjun> if you look at the "NES" in a weird angle, it actually clearly says "GBA"
