The mid-to-late-1990's was a rather significant chapter in my life, with a lots of things happening (among other things, moving from one country to another, and starting at the university, both of which were a rather radical cultural shift, full of growing pains). Even though I was already an adult by that time, technically speaking, I would still say that I "grew up" listening to the music of the era, and nowadays the compositions that I heard so much back then give me a really nostalgic feeling today. It doesn't really matter that these are mostly what you would say "mainstream" (as they were quite a lot played on radio etc.) They still give me nostalgic feelings.
