I finally managed to do everything I could in this but the lack of downfall is I started at level 0 by accident But I hope you understand, it's tough to do a TAS in this like a puzzle were you have to think and know where it goes.

Masterjun: Judging.
Masterjun: As already mentioned in the discussion thread, this movie is very unoptimized. We don't need TASes that can be beaten by humans without tools. You should read our Submission Instructions for more information. In particular: Do not waste the judges' time with movies that have obvious mistakes.
Rejected.

IMHO, glitchless runs of Tetris games with no hard drop function are not very entertaining in general, and this run is no exception. Voting NO, sorry.

Pulling references from [1596] NES Tetris "maximum score" by Acmlm in 03:11.78 and [2581] NES Tengen Tetris "30 lines" by MarbleousDave in 00:29.09 Now some people have already pointed out to you in Discord that this is sub-optimal. The biggest question I have is "Why level 0? Since a Tetris gives out 12000 points right out the gate with Level 9 compared to 1200 at 0." Which well the answer is apparently "i know im dumb to start at level 0 LOL but yeah idk how to change that." Using the first reference does T&DM feature a higher than level 9 difficulty? Does it also feature the top line bug where the bottom line can clear? Using the second reference does T&DM have an optimal seed of blocks as the pause buff method doesn't work? Since you are getting a poor setup of pieces. - I do recommend going over Type-B to figure out the seeding of the game for piece generation since that's the case here. As touched on with the first reference. Tetris for speed requires you to be up at the top at all costs, you're mostly at the bottom from what it appears to be aiming for an "All Clear" which doesn't exist in this version. Unfortunately for you, you also passed "max 999999" (and continued input after that) which begs the question. What is the maximum score of SNES Tetris & Dr. Mario?

I was about to make reference to this movie. Spike is right. First off, getting 1,2, or 3 lines is absolutely not the fastest way to rack up points. Second, you didn't stack the center up to the top so that you can land pieces even faster. Sorry for the rude welcome, but this type of submission is no different than watching a really good human run. No vote.
I recently discovered that if you haven't reached a level of frustration with TASing any game, then you haven't done your due diligence. ---- SOYZA: Are you playing a game? NYMX: I'm not playing a game, I'm TASing. SOYZA: Oh...so its not a game...Its for real? ---- Anybody got a Quantum computer I can borrow for 20 minutes? Nevermind...eien's 64 core machine will do. :) ---- BOTing will be the end of all games. --NYMX

everyone else has already pointed out the obvious here so I don't really need to add to it, it really doesn't look like you were getting any piece manipulations at all and aside from starting on level 0 instead of 9 point wise was a poor choice, that and getting anything less then a tetris is a total timewaster... sorry for the hard welcome here but.... anyhow don't give up take it as a learning experience and try to better yourself maybe post in the WIP forum first and take ideas before you submit a full run, who knows you might learn a trick or get some input on how to make the run faster or better and sadly while looking for older records I found one from 2009 with a much higher score at only line 310 so very suboptimal here

that's actually the clasic tetris song aka "Korobeiniki" (but in C minor i think ?) about the movie : look really unoptimised even to untrained eyes.... ( especially when there is a TGM2 submission in the queues right next to it..) votting No on this one

No. Extremely unoptimized looking and boring besides. I would however like to see someone do a two-games-one-input TAS of Tetris and Dr. Mario. I was hoping this was one when I clicked the submission.

Voted no as most Tetris movies that aim to max out the score aim to get more Tetris lines in a row, stack the blocks up closer to the top so at the end when the score reaches the max the game will end quicker.

I mean.... couldn't you have taken like a minute or two to fix that? shouldn't have kept that, save states are basically there to fix mistakes. Also the fact you couldn't have a clean stack on level 0 is reject worthy. No

You violated many rules of optimizing Tetris in the first minute alone. The first mistake was starting on level 0. You didn't optimize for Tetrises. Your line clears were erratic. And, as others have pointed out, 999999 isn't even the maximum score. Suffice to say, this one is a BIG no.

To get to 999,999 quicker, start on level 9 and only get Tetrises.

This game went all the way to the score ZZZZZZ, but the score A00000 means one million points.
Planned runs: Marble Madness (Arcade, Genesis J, GG/SMS) Proposed: Ecco the Dolphin (Genesis, GG/SMS, CD: regular, camera freeze) Ecco: The Tides of Time (Genesis, GG/SMS, CD; normal mode) Mario Kart DS (all cups, all missions) In progress: Grand Poo World 3 (all exits hard mode)

I just want to drop a message to say I appreciated this run. I used to play this game as a child and always wanted to see the absolute limit this game could be pushed to especially due to serious playability limitations (i.e. no hard drop, T-Spins, etc). By the time you get to Line 300, the pieces are virtually uncontrollable, so I enjoyed very much seeing a 700 line run. If you ask me, seeing a Tetris run that is glitched, or just spits out straight line pieces one after the other is equally if not more boring than a standard run. We could at least have a Glitchless / No Piece Manipulation category or something like that. Maybe I'm just old fashioned. That being said, there are strict standards here and it's a good idea to meet them wherever possible. It's what makes the movies here such high quality. So next time; Start at level 9 Stop once you reach your goal Aim for tetrises wherever possible (I understand without piece manipulation it may not always be possible to get consecutive tetrises though).
