(Sorry if this has been asked i couldnt find it) What is SRAM? I've heard from somewhere it's how IL TASes are set up. But i'm not sure. How do you get an SRAM? Is it like with roms where you have to find a website to download it? Also i'm talking about SRAM in SM64DS. Thanks for the help in advance!

SRAM is literally a save file. You need to play through a game and then use the in-game feature for saving your game. Then you close the emulator and look for the SRAM file somewhere in the subfolders of the emulator you used (usually .sav extension). When you read "movie starts from SRAM" it means that that movie doesn't start from clean save, but it uses a previously created save file. For these cases, our movie rules require the submitter to provide an additional movie file that plays through the game in order to re-create the exact SRAM file that is used for starting the submitted movie in question. By the way, why are you asking?
my personal page - my YouTube channel - my GitHub - my Discord: thunderaxe31 <Masterjun> if you look at the "NES" in a weird angle, it actually clearly says "GBA"
