Has anyone played this game? I think doing a time attack would be easy for it, unless you collect all of the red rubies, which are scattered throughout the levels.

I'm currently working on a run of it on Genesis. I think they are the same game basically.

No, the SNES and Genesis versions are two completely different games.

Well personally I prefer SNES than Genesis.

The genesis version is one of the few licensed games I've played on a 16-bit console that I've actually enjoyed (another being Quackshot!)

Well, I just made a video (not collecting all of the rubies, just a straight-through run) with a time of 32:12 (keeping in mind the between-level cinemas (which I skipped, but still took time), the password screen (unskippable, took a lot of time) and of course, the ending. Aladdin in 32:12 I want to know if it is entertaining...I know I made mistakes, but I can fix those if it is entertaining enough. I don't want to re-do that game for nothing.

I think you can get much more improvement at your run there.. I don't say I can do it better, but someone surely could!

Is that going to be turned into an .avi? I have a Mac so I can't watch those fancy FMV or whatevers, but I love this game. Is that run of the genises or the SNES by the way?

I think Snes9x could be compiled for a Mac. Who can do it?

Submission info says SNES. Everything you'd possibly want to know about a run is on the submission info site (mostly anyway)

I just watched it, it's really nice but I have a few ideas. I saw alot of jump that did not require the parachute. I think it would look more professional if the parachute was only used when it need to be. Also in the levels that require waiting, like the carpet ride, and the lava cave, I think it would have been more entertaining if all the gems were collected. I don't think collecting them all makes anything happen in the end does it? Otherwise great run, great game.

I, on the other hans saw a lot of jumps which didn't use the parachute, which looked like it could have been faster. Also, it looks like jumping on enemies slows you down, yet it seems like he's actually aiming for landing on the enemies. Some of the red diamonds looked like they could have been skipped to make the countdown at the end faster. Am I missing something? Frenom?

I'm re-doing my run using the parachute whenever I feel it can be used to optimize. I took a different route in 1-1, I went down instead of up, but when I used a timer, we both ended up at :28. By the time we had both finished the first "world" Frenom's run had 2:29 (from my stopping point right before 2-1 begins, maybe a frame or two before the music begins) while I had 2:26. Just an observation: - Throughout the first world, there were a lot of head-bounces that weren't required. - Your boss fight was a little slow. Particularly your first hit. He swung and you let him try to hit you for about 1/2 - 1 second before hitting him with an apple. Here's my first world video if you are interested: http://www.filespace.org/Goofyman/Aladdin__U_____.smv Oh, and I don't think the gems have a huge effect. If you got all of them, or missed 1, they might have a slight effect, but there is already a small stall between the password screen and the next world, so you have time to remember the faces of the people I presume.

I do have my thoughts to redo this. Right now I am sick. So I dont have so much strenght do something or anything at all. I noticed that the green gems does'nt matter if you pick. But if you pick the red one's. Thoose is a real timestealer in the end of each "world". Nightynight

I liked the enemy killing, I think thats fun to see. But I would have also liked to see some fancy work to get the gems. But if they slow you down they slow you down.

I found this site a few days ago, when Frenom's Aladdin video showed up on SuprNova. Anyway, I did an Aladdin run myself yesterday, and ended up at 17:09 with 24 red jewels. I will be submitting it as soon as I get home tonight.
