I wholeheartedly agree. What makes things even funnier is that the Ape Man is referred to elsewhere in the game as the Man Ape. And the video was fun...maybe you could make a separate one with the last two levels, so we can receive the full Cheetahmen II experience. =) -Josh
but then you take my 75 perchance chance of winning, if we was to go one-on-one, and then add 66 and two-thirds ch...percents...i got a 141 and two-thirds chance of winning at sacrifice

Holy cow, the terrible factor on this game is just amazing. Did anyone watch the opening sequence? It's right up there with "all your base." With how short this video is, I think it might be worth including this in the video, it would be the most entertaining part.
ALL YOUR BASE! haha, probably the most popular piece of engrish =]

holy shmolly this is not a game, this is a programming error with (bad) graphics! i watched it, well executed, it's a real shame that we can't watch the last 2 levels... it's real easy to fly using that big guy, did anybody try it? after the movie is done you can control him, just hit A and then hit B while punching and you can jump in the air as many times you want :P

I wonder why there's this bug that causes the game to freeze... I mean, didn't they ever tested it? Heh, I guess the developers themselves weren't able to stand this game for longer than 2 levels and they didn't had the money to pay any beta testers to play this more than 2 minutes =p

or maybe they didn't know how to fix the bug and thought "heck, anyone stupid enpough to buy this game won't ever get this far anyway, dumb are we for having porogrammed the next 2 levels! we should have taken those 2 levels and released cheetahmen III!!!"

I much as I would love to, not only does this place not like hacks, but the patched version isn't easy to find. I might do a run of the first Cheetahmen game though. :P

Wouldn't be a bad idea, but I probably won't. :P So... Positive feedback about the movie, negative feedback about the game. Just the way it should be. Was there anything blatantly wrong with the run? If not, I'll fix up level 4 a bit then get it published.

Maybe for Levels 5+6, you could hack in a savestate that puts you at Level 5 to start the movie. So it would be a separate run that would be similar to what happened to that one person who accidentally got to levels 5 and 6 on the console.

No complaints? Then let's get this party started! :P Touched up level four. Dodged a hit, scored 2000 more points and shaved off a couple of frames. It'll be submitted soon.

(hard to find) ROM hack + Save states = Instant reject. The last two levels cannot be done.

All the levels are very similar anyway, so the last two levels wouldn't be very interesting at all, I would think.

I didn't say you had to hack the ROM. Just the save state.

I liked the run just because the game was so bad. If I had been the programmer of this game I would go hang my self. If there is an actual ending in this game I would say a cheat would be legit in order to unlock it and really finish the game.

There isn't an ending. Beating Cygore results in the same glitch, and nothing suggesting a proper ending has been found in the ROM.

Actually, the last 2 levels are quite different than the first four graphically. They have a different style: a purplish color theme, and an outer space type apperance/setting.

There is already a hack which lets you play the 2 remaining levels. I believe all they had to do was change one line of code to fix the bad boss trigger. Anyway, if you're donating anything less than $60 to that scam then you're effectively paying for nothing.

Yeah, I didn't initially realize how bad this project was. I was just like "wow an official NES release" on first sight - and I didn't know there was a fixed ROM and even a TAS for that fixed ROM.

I am working on an improvement to this. Currently I'm 11 Frames ahead of the published run and just finished level 5. Here's the WIP (you need Bizhawk and the patch for the game) But now I ran into a serious problem: I'm losing my entire lead in the transition between levels 5 and 6. I can confirm that it's not because of additional lag, the overall lag counter still has a difference of -7 for my run before and after the transition. So my only other theory is that there is a really dumb frame rule. Generally, this game makes no sense. First of all, every second frame is a lagframe. Some levels are full of lag that can only be removed by seemingly random variations of input, while others have no lag at all. The level I just finished is one of the latter and I couldn't gain a single frame, every slight change from was0x' strategy resulted in taking more damage or missing jumps. I would really appreciate any help on this problem, I was so hoping to finally have a submittable TAS :/
Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.

Hi there! I started speedrunning this game some week ago and willing to share something. When learning this game, I discovered a wrong warp on level 3 that saves several seconds and I noticed the actual TAS didnt do that. Here's the video to show it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhUwlvouTNQ Also fun fact, it does also happens on AVGN video if you look closely to 10:16. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwmoJkHS-2E&t=614s What are you guys thinking about that?

Hello MagicK, and welcome to TASVideos! You should make a TAS of Cheetahmen II that incorporates this new strategy. Cheetamen II is a short game, and it sounds like you're already experienced with the "controls" (if you can even call them that) of the game, so it wouldn't take very long to make an updated TAS of the game.

It would be interesting to try it out myself, I just need to check the resources on the website to learn how to do it.
