I did a little search on here, found nothing, so I'm making this. Anyway, I was thinking, maybe MBM/Puyo Puyo might be an idea for a TAS. Kirby's Avalance already appears to be present, and this is just the same game for the Genesis, with some extra stages, and different music, so it could have the same entertainment potential. I also saw there was a run submitted here, but it wasn't really tool-assisted. Maybe with some TASing, a run could be more fun. In addition, I really want to see the game torn apart. I totally suck at Puyo Puyo. (Couldn't even make it past the second duncebot even on Easy.) I may or may not attempt a run, to compensate for my Puyo-suckitude. I'm still learning the ropes about emulators, and I've been known as a chronic procrastinator...

I'm already doing a TAS on Robotnik, and it's nearly finished at that. 11/13 stages done I think

I don't think a run of this game would be met with a warm welcome. As mentioned, there's already the Kirby's Avalanche run. While I would still like to see a run of MBM, I sincerely doubt that different music and different enemies would be enough to warrant a different run in the eyes of everyone else here. However, if the run had different goals, then maybe it'd be more likely to get accepted. For example, I noticed in KB, there was never an actual 'avalanche.' I think a MBM run should go for massive combos. And I don't mean just 2 or 3 combos with lots of beans, I mean 7 or more combos. So it would be going more for entertainment than speed. Still, I look forward to this nearly finished run. I still play it every now and then, and I still laugh at the game everytime I hear "Yippee!" 5+ times in a row, just like I did way back in 4th grade.

Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and Kirby's Avalanche are pretty much the same game with different names. The MAME version of Puyo Puyo has voices not in the Mega Drive port.

Its sequel, Puyo Puyo Tsu would be the preferred game for TASing purposes (as pirohiko demonstrated), since you can have fewer opponents to fight against provided that you earn enough experience points from beating the first 5 foes to advance to the next floors. This leads to a shorter movie. In addition, in the SFC port, you can skip the part of the opponent's defeat "animation" where they fall into the bottom of the screen.
