Hello to all, I've recently started to use bizhawk 2.5 in place of the several different emulator I was used to. I'm having some problems in starting Sega Saturn isos which needs the support of DRAM cartridge (the ones which don't need the cart are working fine) and even by changing the settings in Saturn menu during the emulation won't help (Street Fighter Zero 3 and Vampire Savior) By searching the internet I've found two ways to fix this (and probably both of them are wrong): 1) adding the game to gamedb_user.txt file Q: Which is the correct format? I tried MD5/Game Name/SAT/ss.cart=extram4 and SHA1/Game Name/SAT/ss.cart=extram4 but did not work. 2) using an hacked bios/firmware (seems too much for a setting change...) I know I'm just one step to play again my favourites games... please help!

The ss.cart value is set by Saturn > Settings > Sync Settings > Expansion cart., which is distinct from Sync Settings > Default expansion cart when autodetection fails. though I'm not sure on the details. Don't waste your time with the gamedb overrides for Saturnus as I believe none of the Nyma cores (as of 2.5 this includes Saturnus) actually use them.
I contribute to BizHawk as Linux/cross-platform lead, testing and automation lead, and UI designer. This year, I'm experimenting with streaming BizHawk development on Twitch. nope Links to find me elsewhere and to some of my side projects are on my personal site. I will respond on Discord faster than to PMs on this site.
Hey look buddy, I'm an engineer. That means I solve problems. Not problems like "What is software," because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of philosophy. I solve practical problems. For instance, how am I gonna stop some high-wattage thread-ripping monster of a CPU dead in its tracks? The answer: use code. And if that don't work? Use more code.
