Initially i wanted simply re-synch old ElectroSpecter movie. (Like i did for Mickey.) But this game is not re-synch-frendly :( Seems best decision is completely re-do whole thing from very beginning. It is a hell lot of work. Not sure that i will be able find time for such big and serious project. At least not soon. So if someone want grab this project i bless him. Speaking about other improvements: There are also Chain Glitch. Jim can jump at ends of chain (he not supposed to do it, however he can). At end of Level 5 it help to make small skip (pic) It save about 3-4 seconds. Probably it can be helpfull somewhere else. There is also similar spot at Buttville, but unfortunately it skip 4 plasma weapons so it require extra research.

Nice discovery. Applications at 0:49, can just jump up directly onto zip line. 7:31, can jump and whip without landing. Near ~8:10, any chance of jumping over the wall, so you don't need to go down and up through chute?

The snowman skip has been known for over a year and works on both the SE and regular versions. Really cool to see others figure it out without any input from the Jim runners. It's possible to do the chain jump in Level 5 on the first set of chains that is closer to the portal, but it requires a leaping chain jump instead of a hop chain jump, which is not possible (yet) from below.

So even higher chain jump possible?! I wondering is it possible to do similar jump to make skip in Intestinal Distress? Or not?

Do these runs have some stuff already implemented? http://www.speedrun.com/ewj1 YamiAmarillo is in there, so I'd guess they do.

Yes, as YamiAmarillo said it already known over year. I started discussion here just to motivate someone to finally improve outdated TAS. P.S. Question about high chain jump in Intestinal Distress is still open.

I'll do some testing when I get home on that spot. SE hasn't been looked at as in-depth as the regular Genesis version has, so there is time to be saved, possibly, in evey stage

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/36255691806047648 Well, here's (part) the first stage with that new jump. It reminds me of Aladdin a lot.

Aladdin and Jim use the same engine. Good start so far. If you're actually going to do the entire game, hit me up. I'll be glad to dump a bunch of knowledge on everything we know so far.

I just tested it and it's not possible to get up there with a normal chain jump or a leaping chain jump. A hitbox viewer would really help a lot, so we can see what's up. The one for Jim 2 helped out immensely in finding new stuff

I won't be able to work on a script for this one, but r57shell is definitely capable.

@arandomgameTASer In case if everything is not enough for you - contact with me too. As addon to these knowledges I'll glad to tell you one tasty thing for dessert. There is also new stuff skip that i discovered recently by myself. At moment this is unknown even for "omniscient" EWJ-speedrunning community.

A new skip would be amazing, can't wait to see how crazy it is. Also, we're not really omniscient, we just have a great love for ewj. And feos, I'll look into that, thanks.

Double post, even though it's been almost 9 months, I'll be TAS'ing both Jim special edition and updating Jim 2 very soon. Need to plan everything out beforehand but expect updates as soon as I work everything out. WIP twitch streams will also happen so people can come chill and help keep me sane while I work on them.

Both TAS's are still a bit a ways from being completed but are being worked on slowly. The skip that Archanfel found is amazing and I can't wait for everyone to see it.

I hope I remember to keep an eye on the progress. Most likely though I'll get busy and forget to check until like 5 years after it's published.

I am working on a TAS for this atm as well. Has the midboss in New Junk City been improved? I got it with only one jump over. I may have been watching an older TAS, but he got it after 4 jumps. I found you can float him in the air at the beginning of the fight with your whip, allowing for extra dmg before he hits the ground. Also, plasma shot animations can be cancelled by whipping, and then you can cancel the whip animation with another plasma, repeat. I shot 4 plasmas in 8 frames, however, I dont think the boss took damage from 2 of them due to iframes. I didnt think that boss had iframes, but I'm still new to TASing this game. I am very curious where the skip was found. I have tried to find a way to dmg boost off the crow at the beginning of NJC and clip into the cliff above to get the toilet warp early. No luck so far, but I feel like it should be possible.

Chuck, the boss of New Junk City, can only take one hit before he starts throwing up fishes. While the regular Genesis version is faster compared to the special edition, the special edition is the definitive version so all my work is being done on that one.
