I know that BizHawk has been based on libretro but you can you add new cores to BizHawk or are the cores being used are the most to up-to-date in BizHawk?

The team is well aware of the desire to have more cores. They have added several cores, but admittedly they're not everyones cup of tea. I don't really know what goes into porting a core, but I believe its just not a top priority right now. There's a lot of cores out there, and that can be overwhelming on where to begin. Bizhawk github does have branches of incomplete core integration that I have no clue on whether or not they work.

That is a good point. Even in Retroarch, there are just too many cores to choose from and not all of them are good.

Funny, I thought it was.

So you can add cores to Bizhawk? Does that mean that you can use cores like BSNES or Mesen on Bizhawk?

You must try, I just use Mame core and Vectrex core month and month ago.

That thing is afterthought land and doesn't really work afaik. You might as well just use RetroArch at that point.

I thought you could upload cores to Bizhawk. I had been wanting to try some emulators for their accuracy and I wanted to record videos with them.

Would be pretty cool if you could just simply load a libretro core and everything would work so long as the emulator has its own save states. ..but if that does become a reality, trying to judge a movie that's made on different version of said core that can only be gotten through some link could be a little messy I suppose.. Like, a movie is made on an old libretro core release and by the time they submit it, they would have to provide the libretro core version they used in some link so it syncs for the judge(and for anyone else trying to sync it).

Well no there's already cores in Bizhawk that aren't acceptable to submission (e.g. MelonDS).

I guess it is a necessary evil if only to get the most up-to-date, accurate cores. I just wanted to make some videos.
