Thank you for providing such wonderful news! Do you know anything more about his run? Like is it replayable and in sync or does Metroid Prime still suffer from desyncs and such?

It's just as desync prone as it's always been. This run was made with the same method as my Any% was. (Dumping the movie in the process of making it, section by section). Supposedly there have been very recent improvements with syncing? But this TAS was started long, long before that.

I solved the last room preventing '21% Inbounds' Link to video description
BSJ unmorph position: x386.708405 y-836.832397 z55.939518 Ledge stall/morphwall position: x402.694214 y-852.610229 z59.0008316 BSJ Window (jumpstate 4): 22 frames Scan Vision initiation delay: 14 frames By doing a 4-bomb BSJ, with bombs laid every other frame, it is possible to gain 2.655 height units within 8 frames, the following 14 frames are used to pull out scan visor while still being able to jump, allowing a first frame scanpoint target on the final frame of jumpstate 4. In other words: unmorphing on or before frame 8 allows a scan dash BSJ. The BSJ is setup by using the camera angle provided by the spinner, you just have to enter it and leave by laying a bomb. The camera gives horrible IU facing angles, and therefore requires you to be on the right-hand side of the camera obstruction when the objective is to dash left. It is incredibly precise to snag the scan point lock-on from the position needed to be close enough to complete this skip. The position required to land on the final spinner is 59.99, this height is impossible to achieve from the BSJ starting point without Space Jump. In order to clear this jump, a 'morph ball wall stall' is required, and, in addition, a BSJ window reset is also required. This is because jumpstate 2 can not snap up ledges during an unmorph animation, however jumpstates 0 and 4 can. Stalling on the side of the spinner is extremely precise and unreliable. It can effectively only be done through brute force. Stalling on this particular object is quite common, though because a BSJ window reset is required, stalling at any point will not be sufficient. In order for the BSJ window to reset, a position of 58.99 or higher is required. Stalling at this height (from the starting position I used in the BSJ) requires stalling On The First Possible Frame. It took me upwards of 7 or 8 hours of TASing to achieve this skip.
Following that jump is another absolutely horrible trick: Link to video The big thing here that's new (and allows this to work without Space Jump) is using a double strafe to target swap and grab the scan point under Spinner #1 to use as a dashing point. No other target gives a trajectory good enough. Since the target is in scan range, you have a very small window to setup the dash before the scan finishes, and also naturally you only have one single try at this before the target is scanned and the dash is impossible (But it's TAS only, so one try means very little lol). Edit: Also here's how you access the first spinner, I forgot I had a video of it. Link to video

Link to video Here's a timing video for the new route, if you read the description, it explains how this video isn't perfect by any means and several improvements can be made to the new route which require more timing. Like this Link to video And this Link to video And hopefully 2 Tank Magmoor rather than 3 Link to video Link to video I spent an unhealthy amount of time working on this, so I'm taking a break and eventually I will finish the timing, but currently we're looking at ~25-30 in-game seconds of timesave minimum if the 2tank VMR is solved. (Because of the updated meta since 2016, that's not exactly fair, since some seconds can clearly be saved on old route too). This new route is substantially faster RTA though, skipping like 2 minutes of cutscene. If another any% TAS gets made, even though it's unlikely to break a new minute mark IGT because of the route change, this new route should be used. It's pretty cool.

New exploit I call Astral Projection, allows Samus to move around semi-freely in collision which she was occupying space within upon the collision loading in. This lets you move around and collect items near walls and then be able to clip outside of the wall afterwards, avoiding what used to be a softlock. Link to video Link to video Link to video The final clip solves a new TAS route for 100% which I imagine will save a substantial amount of time.

For the first ~10 years of this game's history, out of bounds was actually banned in the SDA ruleset, so this would really be more of a blast to the past. I do think that a No OoB TAS would be quite cool though, the movement in this game is way more visually appealing when you can see what's happening in all honesty. Maybe someday a project can be made, but right now I think all the active TASers are working on 100% and low% which both use a lot of out of bounds.

And it's gonna be rejected due to being built on an unofficial Dolphin build once again?
TASing is like making a film: only the best takes are shown in the final movie.

When did that happen before?

So there's a Dolphin build on which that run fully syncs?

That was done on the official Dolphin build 4.0-4222. The submission was rejected because it desynced for literally everyone, not because a bad Dolphin version was picked. With that said, do I hope this new TAS is using a more recent version than the 8 years old 4.0-4222!

It's using the 2020....modified build of....version 4.0-4222 (with added TAS-Studio!!). Newer Dolphin builds house far too many 'features' that make efficient TASing a non-option. You want a Metroid Prime TAS from me, then you either get 4.0 or you get nothing. Also,
And it's gonna be rejected due to being built on an unofficial Dolphin build once again?
I think I recall part of the rational for rejecting the Battle for Bikini Bottom any% TAS. It used a Dolphin build modified for consistent loads in that game (and that TAS did sync). Dimon12321 could have been alluding to this? Doesn't much matter. I have no intention of submitting TASes to this site, I am just sharing my work in this thread that would be dead without my updates🤠. Speaking of which, yesterday I found two new techs: Flickbomb: Using the flick mechanic as a bomb goes off will add approx 2 Zspd, allowing for much higher BSJ, RGBJ and wallboosts. Link to video And, the S-Curve jump: which uses a very precise window to bend a jump forwards and transition to bending it backwards (or vice versa) without losing speed. Link to video It also works on dashes. Link to video This tech grants TASer (me) much more control over Samus' jump path, meaning more control over trajectory and location of each landing of a jump. Navigating tight spaces with dashes and bunny hops will now be much more optimal.
