Hello. Just joined today. I've been a speedrunner for almost two years and have used TASes to research and experiment with strategies and routes and such. Have some good TASes that I'd like to submit. I've tried submitting my TAS for Jaws on the NES 3 times today (I waited a long time between attempts, just in case). I filled out all the fields that were required, selected the zip file with my FCEUX movie in it, and filled out the comment section based on the default format provided. But when I press "save", the tab processes for a minute and then reloads itself as an empty submission form. When I go check all the places that new submissions should appear, my submission isn't listed. What's happening? Am I doing something wrong?

Are you able to upload that file to http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/my#uploadfile ?
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

looking at the page I realized that my zip file was too big. guess I needed to make a "compact" movie save. went and successfully submitted. but now I have a different issue. the "movie length" and "Frame Count" were calculated automatically. but there are closing credits and the like at the end. was I supposed to make the final frame of the movie end at a particular point? in speedruns we stop the timer on the frame when jaws gets stabbed (when we see blood). should i truncate the movie so that's the last frame?

You truncate to last input, tas timing is a bit different. EDIT: If it's particularly important we can put RTA timing in movie description.
[16:36:31] <Mothrayas> I have to say this argument about robot drug usage is a lot more fun than whatever else we have been doing in the past two+ hours
[16:08:10] <BenLubar> a TAS is just the limit of a segmented speedrun as the segment length approaches zero

TY. it looks like Samsara truncated the movie for me already, but I'll be sure to do that for future submissions. I don't know if this community would consider it "important", but by RTA rules this TAS represents a run at just until 3 minutes (2:58.605), which I considered an awesome achievement. I will edit my submission notes to say this, in case anyone might be interested in that fact.
