EDIT: Works when I add www. to the domain name.
Now that is odd, because www. is not part of the domain name, and I get a 404 if (and only if) I add that. BoltR: Your Mario Paint movie seems to have been taken down, and I haven't seen it, and wonder if my movie is faster... probably not, because I wasn't actually aiming for fastest time, just a "pretty fast" playthrough of the first level without luck manipulation. (I would be more concerned about filling this thread with off-topic posts, but I don't see what other good could come of a thread about pointless things to do.)

- Mario Movie. (yes, it is a ROM, yes, it is insane, yes, you can TAS it at increidble speeds by firing > at the right times)

lol is there a TAS of duck hunt here? as i am interested in seeing a) when it ends or b) when it crashes due to technical issues involving duck speed and/or level number.
No. 1: FCEU doesn't record zapper input in movies. Only gamepads. 2: It would be pointless since you can easily blast any duck that appears onscreen at the exact first frame they appear. It would be like watching 30 minutes of ducks suddenly appearing and then dropping.

That's funny, because the link only worked for me when I added www. to it. So it looks like Bisqwit isn't the only odd one out here.

It doesn't work for me either way.

There must be something configured wrong. Well, here is a rapidshare link to the file. It's only a test of level 1 (probably the least entertaining level because it has a 2-flies-onscreen limit) that I did earlier for Snes9x. I thought I ought to post it because it certainly demonstrates "mov[ing] the cursor ridiculously and not look[ing] anything like mouse movement", although I wasn't trying for that at the time and it would be possible to make it look much more ridiculous. I haven't been able to get BoltR's movie.

The lamest game to TAS would be NHL (insert year here). It would involve 59 minutes and 59 seconds of stalling then one goal.

Tecmo Bowl. Though you're right. Sports games are lame to TAS. And Tecmo Bowl is a superplay, not a speedrun.

Pick any Game and Watch Gallery game. I'd say 3 would be best.

I just watched the flyswat video... and actually I realised that it has potential for a concept video. Instead of just pure speed run, it can be made to beat to a rhythm or something. In fact it would be cool if a montage is made with like many of such clips from many different games... sort of like the nike freestyle advert

OOhhh! Oooooooh! Here's a lame one! Pokemon stadium 2's quick-draw quiz thingamajig. You would answer about 6000 right before the end. But technically, a speedrun would be to get all wrong so the time penalties stacked up.

On the subject of the Stadium 2 quiz, there's some amount of delay after answering the question when the timer is still counting, before it tells you you're right or wrong and moves onto the next question. I'd guess a perfect score would be around 150.

I don't know about being the most pointless, but Wall Street Kid could be one of the top 10.

I once thought about doing Anticipation for NES as the lamest run. But I keep getting too lazy to do it. For those who haven't played it (shame on you), it's like pictionary, except the AI starts to draw the picture and you hit a button to answer when you know what it is. With a TAS, it would seem like the player is telling the NES what to draw.

Dance Dance Revolution and/or Guitar Hero. You could TAS it, but have fun watching everyone else finish in exactly the same time. :P (is there a version of ddr on a system with a rerecording emulator?)
There are a few gameboy DDR's as well.

The trick would be to luck manipulate the AI into picking the shortest possible words.

That sounds like my suggestion for the Pokemon Stadium 2 quiz. Post 25!

Pac-Man, Galaga and Clu Clu Land. I like Pac-Land better than Pac-Man, and recorded TAS movie before. But there was no ends and restarted from Stage1 when Stage16 was cleared. Why didn't you make ends...Namco...

I've got an all-new competitor in this area, the never-before-released Desert Bus for the SEGA CD! Link below explains it all: http://torrentfreak.com/desert-bus-the-torrent/

Harvest Moon 64. It's an entertaining game to play, but watching someone farming for a few hours would be downright boring.
The funny thing about a Harvest Moon 64 TAS is that there is no farming. Harvest Moon 64 All Photos TAS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Zp8IAYYn-U
