  1. The 1st Thing You May Have a bit Confused: The Game Time 25:24 means that it was measured by the game's embedded time record.
  2. I used BizHawk-2.8-win-x64 to record.
  3. A New Record by me.
  4. Taking 0 Damage, which goes without saying, implies that the main protagonist doesn't suffer any damage during the whole gameplay except for that in a plot.
  5. Last but of significance: The "_.zip" contains SRAM (You may find two SRAMs, but forgive me 'cause I forgot which SRAM could be the right one fit for the Prime Record of Time Challenge) and Verification Record (From Normal Mode to Director's Cut Mode).
This will be my last record for this game.(My Hands...!)

ThunderAxe31: Removed 3187 blank frames at the end of the movie. Also, corrected game name and branch label.
feos: Fixed formatting.
ThunderAxe31: Judging.
ThunderAxe31: Hello and welcome to TASVideos, M1D!
From watching casually it seems good, but from looking at it in TAStudio it becomes clear that there are small pauses across the whole movie. In order for a movie to be published, it should feature typical TASing optimization. Specifically, each input should be done as soon as possible, without waiting. You can find more about TAStudio in this video. If you want, I can also personally help and show you a live streaming, in our Discord server.
Better luck next time!

First I'm going to provide a correction to the author's verification movie it erases Slot 1 and 2 making them accessible from the start as "Reset Memory" would delete the unlocks from the game (and in making this post I just found out there's a cheat that allows you to unlock these faster). Second. I don't think this should be branched, or well using this mode as it's just the game with a timer counting down in the bottom left running at whatever difficulty it's equivalent to. In saying that, I also have my own file which is 307 frames faster (gameplay alone) before entering the swarm of enemies fight. The author has a lot of very RTA like input going on with mashing about before the title screen (that's input being held down) and late start presses when they're needed to be sooner, basically saying there's a lot of room to be cleaned up. It's a good opener by the author, but there's a lot of room to be improved. Best of luck.

Yes, there exist lots of problems just as you said. But I'm not that experienced to perform masses of TAS operations in that game. And more significant, almost every kung-fu skill takes at least 0.5s or even more, so many of them seemed to be like RTA. I made this record to see if anyone could carry out a better or an ultimate one. I suppose the limit to the Speedrun may arrive at an approximation of 23-24min recorded in gameplay.

I will take a deeper look at the TAS and see if there are more possible improvements. If the problem is present only in the first few fights, then the TAS is acceptable. However, if the mistakes are present in many spots across the movie, it will have to be rejected. Please wait for me to finish my judgement process.

I just watched your 307-frame-faster TAS record. Impressive! Actually I've re-recorded this TAS movie thrice, and this is my third attempt of the game.

Take your time, patience is the important thing here. That being said, here's the entire Act 1 done on Director's Cut difficulty which is equivalent to Time Challenge in terms of damage dealt and taken. It's 1189 frames faster (gameplay alone) that the submission file. You can use it as reference, see what I did in my input, and capitalize over it. Best of luck improving over it.

Amazing! I must say I could have never thought of turning round to backs of enemies to perform fist attack. And your example for this shows over 5k times of re-recording. I feel somewhat confused. Could you tell me the level of speed you chose when recording, and do you use Auto-fire Input? Besides, I found a BUG and used it in Act 3-3 when the protagonist was undertaking a infiltration. When you manipulate the Hero into jumping from behind the enemy to the NEAR front of it, almost Back to Face, and then at once crouching, the enemy will "pretend" to see the Hero and turn back. Anyway, have you ever played this game before? I could see that you are experienced and kinda familiar with the game.

That's why I said to take your time in my other post, you'll find stuff that you didn't consider before such as the 2-hit attack I showcased. (Also that 5k is a bit of an explosion for other reasons, it's actually around 3k so whoops.)

I'm using BizHawk's inbuilt input piano roll called "TAStudio" (Tools > TAStudio). This gives me time to access the inputs I want to make and adjust it about and to take time to know what to do.

Thanks for the compliment, but no, I have never played this game before. The routing is based on what you have showcased, so I looked at that as reference to figure out what I was meant to do.

Yes, it was just as you said. I'm merely a new comer and beginner lacking TAS recording experiences, nonetheless, my hands would have a long breath 'cause I understood when using TAS Studio it is patience & intelligence that matter. I could barely overstate my thanks & gratitude to all of you. I will take a look on that tutorial sooner and make a fourth attempt in a future time.

I've discovered that you can unlock the Director's Cut mode through an in-game cheat: on the ''select a slot'' screen, hold L and tap up, R, select, R, up, select, select. Source: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/gba/589599-bruce-lee-return-of-the-legend/cheats This is allowed for submissions.

In fact, I've known this before, but I'm not sure if it is cheating.

Hello, there. May I create a new blog for WIP of my new TAS project (Bruce Lee - Return of the Legend)? I've noticed that it isn't a trivial matter if I want to make a fluent excellent TAS video. However, I may haven't got sufficient spare time or vigor. Each time I record I will update the work here. Just let me informed if this proposal is acceptable.

Feel free to create a thread for this game in https://tasvideos.org/Forum/Subforum/20 so it's more easily available, and people who want to follow your progress will subscribe to that thread.

It's now a WIP. My current TAS Project are provided here. Once the Project is accomplished, I'll re-submit the TAS record.
