Second Flash submission! Raft Wars is one of the most popular flash classics of the 2000s era. It is a turn based strategy game where one side is controlled by the player and other by AI.

Game objectives

  • Emulator used: Ruffle 0.1.0-nightly (b645c01 2022-02-24) in libTAS 1.4.3
  • Game can be officially downloaded here
  • Aims for fastest completion

Comments

This TAS was made as a direct celebration of the release of libTAS 1.4.3 which now supports ruffle. There are three levels of priorities in optimizing this game. First is the number of shots. With every extra shot, the enemy also gets a turn so we would lose about 30 seconds or more. Second is the manner in which we kill the enemy. We want to knock them into water rather than draining their HP as the latter has a drain animation which is cute and funny but wastes time. Third priority is of course the shots themselves, the angle they take for the fastest travel time etc. I am quite happy with how it turned out and happy to present years of routing in display (including the strat in level 10 that my dad accidentally found when I was a kid).

Frame #6260

slamo: Claiming for judging.
slamo: Another nice Flash run, the optimization is sensible and some of the shots obviously require a lot of precision. Accepting.
fsvgm777: Processing.

Knowing the game from years ago I wasn't expecting anything special, and yet I was pleasantly surprised. All the fancy shots taking out multiple enemies at once make it a very entertaining watch!

Huh...this reminds me of Scorched Earth! Yes!
I recently discovered that if you haven't reached a level of frustration with TASing any game, then you haven't done your due diligence. ---- SOYZA: Are you playing a game? NYMX: I'm not playing a game, I'm TASing. SOYZA: Oh...so its not a game...Its for real? ---- Anybody got a Quantum computer I can borrow for 20 minutes? Nevermind...eien's 64 core machine will do. :) ---- BOTing will be the end of all games. --NYMX

Pretty cool TAS. The game reminds me of Worms in a lot of ways. It's clear the precision is and planning is only achievable with tool-assistance. Yes vote.

I never saw this game before! A delightful Worms-like with its own aesthetic and a focus on setting up multikills each and every turn. Yes vote! Sleeping with the fishes!

GamesFan2000 isn't liable for their unimportance. In other news, OH MY GOD THE NOSTALGIA IS OVERWHELMING! Raft Wars, a member of the Flash Hall of Fame, and a game that I greatly enjoyed playing as a kid. The internet has changed so much since 2007. Anyways, this TAS is 10 different levels of insane (pun definitely intended)! The shots are beautiful, and the enemies are "sleeping with the fishes" before you can say hit me "...Baby One More Time"! An excited yes vote for this classic!

This is a question to ask in the Ruffle thread, or ask a judge thread, not in a TAS submission.

Worms Armageddon isn't a Flash game, though.
Steam Community page - Cohost profile Oh, I'm just a concerned observer.
