Introduction

Presenting the most important TAS of our generation, the true any% completion to M and M's Kart Racing for the Nintendo Wii!
This glorious run is sponsored by Raid Shadow Legends Dolphin Emulator v5.0

Comments

Dolphin refuses to encode the loading screens correctly for whatever reason but honestly I think it's hilarious and just adds that cherry on top. Sorry if it's a tad annoying :(
This TAS completes the Tournament mode on Hard difficulty.
By pressing down the minus, b, and 1 buttons all at the same time you can activate a debug feature and skip any track in the game! Using this technique, I skip all of the tracks except for the last one. I then drive the last track normally from there. Unfortunately, this means that there's a LOT of loading screens, since the game has to load every single track just for it to be skipped in 1 frame... Additionally, this same button combination can also be used in the main menu to get lots of chocolate coins and buy the fastest car in the game immediately from a fresh save.

Q+A for the curious:

"Is this actually real????": Yes this is a real TAS and the exploit I talk about is really in the game, try it yourself :)
"Can't you just skip the last level?": Skipping the last track sends you to a "debug" track where it's impossible to win so it's unfortunately not possible to skip the last level and still win.
"Did you actually beat the game? There's no credits!": The game has no credits because like all great games M&M's Kart Racing understands that the joy of a game comes from the journey, not the destination

Samsara, Joke One: yooooooo, i loved this game! like i know everyone and their mother had a kart racer but slim honestly deserved this one
Samsara, Joke Two: speaking of melting in one's mouth,
Samsara: Doesn't sync for me, there's no information in the submission text, and there's really no point to delay a Playground-only AFD submission. Deferring. If info is provided and/or another Judge gets it to sync, feel free to move to Playground.

I've been waiting for a TAS of this game, and I liked your run of the last level. But I'm worried that the button combination constitutes a cheat code, which may not be acceptable as it skips over gameplay and is accessed through the intended manner. See this rejected submission's judgment message and a discussion on this rule, and this one which was accepted because the debug menu used was only accessible through a glitch. I haven't been able to find the M&M's Kart Racing manual online to confirm whether your button combo is an intended code or not; the closest I got was the DS version publisher's site with a broken link to its game manual. But I just bought a copy of this game from eBay (no fooling, it was cheap too), so in less than a week I can share a scan of the manual and we'll see if it's mentioned.

I looked on the rules, and it seems that they have been updated since the ruling of that previous TAS. In my opinion, it's not really a "glitch" but an intended behavior of the game that was most likely unintentionally left into the game and it should count as a cheat code. The moons category is now much less restrictive with the goal and if I understand it correctly, getting a run accepted into moons comes down to entertainment value. All jokes aside, this TAS is terrible to watch so I do think it will be rejected from moons for that reason alone and it would be rejected from Standard due to the aforementioned cheat codes. Maybe one day I'll make a full proper TAS of this game but I'm working on other games at the moment and the idea of a credits warp glitch in an M&M Kart Racing game felt perfect for an april fools's joke.

It was funny! And that loading screen bug made it even better and stranger, and quite hard to look at. The manual arrived, Here it is on Google Drive, and also DocDroid (a free PDF viewer, will expire after 60 days of inactivity). You can use the Zoom buttons to zoom while keeping the text clear and readable. There's no mention of any cheats, and I couldn't find the button combination in any articles from a cursory look online, just unlockables by collecting enough chocolate chips. It seems like RTA runner Storster really was the first to discover it. It's possible the code was left in by mistake like you said, especially since using it on the last level leads to glitched tracks. It's surprising how easy it is to activate though.
