I also agree with the two rules proposed in the first post. However, there is still a little matter that needs to be sorted out... #7485: ThunderAxe31's GB Rolan's Curse "password, game end glitch" in 04:04.80 #6092: ThunderAxe31's GB Rolan's Curse "hardest password, game end glitch" in 04:36.89 Should one of these be accepted? Which one? Maybe both of them? Maybe for different classes? My idea is accepting "easiest password" for Standard because it's the fastest, and accepting "hardest password" for Moons because it's more about being fancy with a self-imposed challenge (maybe it doesn't meet the Moons entertainment requirement, but I have a major "improvement" in the works, stay tuned 😉)
my personal page - my YouTube channel - my GitHub - my Discord: thunderaxe31 <Masterjun> if you look at the "NES" in a weird angle, it actually clearly says "GBA"

Is easiest password actually the fastest known password? And yeah maybe the existing "hard" version is not different+entertaining enough for Moons.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

It's the fastest one I could find. Maybe someone could do better, with some more in depth understanding of the game code. Either way, it's not gonna be easy to improve.

Okay then I agree that it should fit Standard under these new rules.

Here's a quick opinion of mine about cheating: Cheating is not following the rules. If the rules allow cheats, are they really cheats? I can't really answer the poll for that exact reason. However, if we ignore the word "cheats", for me things should be allowed if they help in the goal of the TAS and it's substantive, per example using a code to unlock a secret difficulty setting, or correcting a glitch. Here's a more clear example: you already accepted my FFCC TAS, yet it uses a patch code to prevent the game to crash after Goblin Wall because it was badly coded and Dolphin struggles with that. TLDR: It should be accepted/refused on a game to game basics, on a category to category basics, on a context to context basics. Making a global ruling that would accept ALL of them or refusing ALL of them is not a good idea in my humble opinion. We have judges, let's give them work, they can make that judgement ;)
