A Super Mario Bros TAS by lolr4v82. This TAS does not have any glitches, but does use warps. If you wonder why I took damage in late game, it was to make me small so I could finish the castle level quicker.
What was the purpose of this run? It was to finish the game Super Mario Bros. as fast as possible, without using glitches.

nymx: Claiming for judging.

nymx: Canceling, since this submission is incomplete and another already exists in place of it.

You have a submission error. Your movie file is 50 frames long. Obviously, this is a mistake. Can you please upload an updated movie file to the WIP / User file area and I will replace.
I recently discovered that if you haven't reached a level of frustration with TASing any game, then you haven't done your due diligence. ---- SOYZA: Are you playing a game? NYMX: I'm not playing a game, I'm TASing. SOYZA: Oh...so its not a game...Its for real? ---- Anybody got a Quantum computer I can borrow for 20 minutes? Nevermind...eien's 64 core machine will do. :) ---- BOTing will be the end of all games. --NYMX

Unfortunately your TAS is about 39 seconds slower than this TAS which came out 5 years ago, and using the preferred NTSC version: Link to video Please take your time and use the tools available to you in BizHawk and use the userfiles. Go again when you've optimized all you can.

I'm going to second that statement from Spikestuff. I immediately noticed a problem in stage 1-2 at the beginning. Taking that much time to go to the top of the screen is much slower than continuing through the normal area. Also, getting the mushroom in this stage is slower. If you are going to do so, you need to get one that reduced the time for backtracking. I stopped analyzing after that stage, since this TAS is already showing significant optimization issues.

Exactly what I was going to say. This is a good idea for a branch, but the run is VERY sub optimal. That's a no from me.

I have uploaded a new TAS, because this one had the wrong movie file, as nymx said. If you can, you may delete this TAS, as I cannot. This is not meant as a double submission. EDIT: Realized my mistake and misread about user files.
