Avenger
This is a "Space Invaders" clone, published on cartridge by Commodore in 1981 for the Vic-20. The game uses multi-color graphics and supports keyboard and/or joystick control. The player starts with 3 baes and gets a new base at 1500 points. A year later, the Commodore 64 would receive its release...on cartridge as well.

Effort In TASing
I finally had the nerve to take a stab at these "Space Invader" type games and I can really appreciate how much effort it takes to get an optimize movie. Hats off to all of you who were able to do so well with the Atari 2600 version. These kind of games have an ever changing strategy...meaning that you really need to come up with a higher plan of action (in terms of optimization), rather than just shooting things as quickly as possible.
Optimizing was done on several fronts. They are listed below:
- Shooting the lowest items first. Doing so, causes the invaders to slowly increase
- Never shooting the outside aliens early on. By avoid this, you allow the invaders to drop faster
- Shooting out at about 2/5 and 4/5 the way through the block of enemies, so that near the end...you have time to shoot enemies as they pass. (This one was really hard to set up)
- Delaying shots to ensure shooting a more important target.
- Getting the RNG to shoot through a barrier, so that I don't have to move back and forward so much to eliminate one side for the final sweep.
Difficulty
This game was set on the hardest difficulty, Level 4.
Ending Choice
I'm following suit, as in other submissions. One fleet destroyed.
Human Comparison
Probably not necessary, since most people are well aware of how this game works.
ThunderAxe31: Everything is allright here: optimization, settings, etc. Accepting.
