4:57.17 in RTA timing: this is my first full tas of the game

nymx: Claiming for judging.
nymx: Changing the branch name to reflect past publications/submissions. Also, trimmed the blank inputs...reducing the frame count by 386. Now we should have an accurate comparison time.
nymx: I was going to wait the 3 days, to allow the author to bow out gracefully...but since a second submission was made and canceled by CasualPokePlayer, I'm going to take the same action here.
Basically, this submission doesn't meet the optimization level required to compete with the existing record of [1715] NES Super Mario Bros. "warps" by HappyLee in 04:57.31.
Canceling.

Hello JayKondeck and welcome to TASVideos, unfortunately the timing you're using is slower than the several year old publication [1715] NES Super Mario Bros. "warps" by HappyLee in 04:57.31. It's highly recommended to use the userfiles for movies that don't best something pre-existing and to hone in your skills

This is a great first attempt! However, it's suboptimal. First, the start press is delayed by a long time. 1-2 can be improved by a framerule with better clips. 4-2 can be improved by dropping the walljump. In 8-1, a flagpole glitch can save a framerule. 8-2 can be improved with a faster BBG. 8-3 can be improved with either a 244 or an FPG on 242. 8-4 has frames to be saved everywhere. While this is a solid attempt, it does not quite meet the sandards for publication. I'd suggest posting your attempts to the user files first. Even then, there is almost no way the current published TAS can be beaten.
