EDIT: Due to using 2 players, this TAS has been improved by 287 frames - https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638329035976590969
About the Game(s):
Action 52 is an unlicensed game made for the NES and Sega Genesis, featuring - you guessed it - 52 different video games. The NES version was published in 1991, whereas the Genesis version was published in 1993. Both versions were published by Active Enterprises.
Armor Battle is game 42/52 in the Sega Genesis version of Action 52. This is a 2 player game with a grey tank and a green tank shooting at each other. You play as the grey tank.
About the TAS:
This TAS aims for Any%, which means completing all 9 levels.
Menuing:
After waiting through a short pre-menu screen, skipping the Action 52 cutscene and going through the menu to select “42. ARMOR BATTLE” we can start the game on frame 520.
Gameplay/Tech:
All 9 levels have exactly the same concept, as explained in the “About the Game(s)" section.
The bullet physics of each level vary, as shown by this list:
  • Levels 1, 3, 5, 7 - Normal
  • Level 2 - Slightly Downwards
  • Level 4 - Slightly Upwards
  • Level 6 - Very Downwards
  • Level 8 - Very Upwards
  • Level 9 - Close to Vertical
Your tank can shoot 20 times per second, starting on the 2nd frame of each round.
The tanks have 10 hitpoints, meaning the normal shooting levels take about half a second of input time. (31 frames to be precise)
Input ends on frame 3921 when we fire the final bullet on Level 9.
And That’s It!
This TAS is very trivial, so it more than likely can't be improved.
Thanks for reading.

nymx: Claiming for judging.
nymx: Updating with an improved movie file.
nymx: Well, this takes after the NES version of [5636] NES Action 52: Fire Breathers by LoganTheTASer in 00:28.72. It's no different, where two players battle for the win...only this time, its with Tanks.
Accepting.

despoa: Processing...

If this is a 2-player game mode, wouldn't it save time to move the second tank closer to the shots so the levels end sooner? Is TASing with only one player suboptimal (necessitating the "One player in a multiplayer game" tag)? You pointed out that this is very trivial, and I agree, especially since you're just beating up on an absent Player 2. This seems similar to TASing a 2P Smash Bros match in which the absent player is knocked off the stage repeatedly until either their stock or the timer runs out. I see that triviality is no longer a rejection factor, but I don't see anything in the rules about 2-player Vs. with only one active player being acceptable or unacceptable.

true that. i‘ll probably remake this, Knockout and Fire Breathers taking that into account.

So apparently, this is a two player version of the game "Norman" from the same Action 52 multicart. Do you plan on doing that?
