The only reason why I stumbled on this title is because I just found out that this title lifts an asset from this one.
Now for my opinion... both these Escape the Room titles can be brute forced and are both uninteresting, this one is just extra annoying step to deal with, which is forced to call the correct number TWICE.
Prerequisites. This is a modified flash file.
It is modified due to the non-deterministic loading thanks to the Newgrounds API.
You cannot nuke the internet, as that will result in a longer load in Ruffle comparatively to flash which loads the title instantly.
So how does one change things in order to sync?
Firstly you need JPEXS Free Flash Decompiler. After grabbing a clean version of the game only one thing need to be adjusted.
Change the contents within com.newgrounds.components -> APIConnector line 124 to just this:
this.loader.haltComplete = false;
Yes I just lifted this from One Chance.
Thanks for noticing.

Not to be confused with Escape the Office. Link to video Is the Ruffle version in your recent submissions correct? Not 2024?

The Flashpoint database has a game under the title "Escape the Office 2015" which seems to be an alternate version of the game in this submission. I wonder if this version isn't in Flashpoint yet, or even which one is the original version of the game...

That version seems to be by Shawn Tanner, while this submission is done on a Karim Muhtar game (both games have author name on title screen). I think we will need to add the author's name in parentheses for their respective game entries.

I agree. It is after all in line with how we handle "same game name, but different dev/publisher on same platform" kind of situations.

Could we use the dev or publisher in parenthesis instead of the author when they are known, to make it a little more consistent with how similar situations are handled on consoles?

Are those authors not developers of those games? Situation with console games is a bit different in that you had to have an official approval, so the publisher was like the face behind the game (on title screens too). Flash is an indie/homebrew scene, so publisher is maybe less important?

I personally view sites like Newgrounds to be a Flash game (and movie) host rather than a publisher. Indeed, as feos mentioned, Flash games are largely indie, and so the vast, vast majority of Flash games end up self-published and then hosted on sites like Newgrounds. Funnily enough, this particular Flash game mentions it is sponsored by another Flash game host called Play It Online...but I could not find it at all there.

This movie has been published. The posts before this message apply to the submission, and posts after this message apply to the published movie. ---- [6080] Flash Escape the Office (Karim Muhtar) by Spikestuff in 00:13.00
