The Big Adventure of Owata's Life (人生オワタ\(^o^)/の大冒険) is a Flash action game released in the 2000s. In this TAS, we will see one of the endings of that game.

Game objectives

  • Emulator used: libTAS 1.4.5 + ruffle-nightly-2024-01-16
  • SHA1: 00589a6fce16e9043cf11785dc5968b339f0ba04
  • View the ending in the "Genjitsu" route

Game description

  • This game is an action game in which the player is the character "Jinsei Owata" created on the Japanese textboard 2channel.
  • In this game, if a character takes damage even once, they die instantly.
  • Aim for the goal while avoiding numerous instant death traps.

Comments

This game has two routes: the "Jukai"(樹海) route, which goes to the left, and the "Genjitsu"(現実) route, which goes to the right. In this TAS, we aim to be the fastest on the "Genjitsu" route.
There can only be three bullets on the screen. Therefore, the closer you are to the enemy, the better your attack efficiency will be.
In Airman battles, there is a 20 frame interval for damage to occur.

Samsara: Claiming for judging.
Samsara: Resetting to New, as I haven't had any spare time or motivation lately. Sorry for the continued wait ._.

feos: Claiming for judging.
feos: Waiting for the author to reply in the thread regarding possible improvements.
feos: Improvements kept getting suggested in the submission thread, but the author is not responding (I also tried contacting them on youtube a week ago). Other judges liked the idea of canceling this movie until the author returns, but improvement suggestions piled up and they feel significant. If it was just one suggestion that saved a few frames, I would have probably already accepted this, tho ideally we'd have the author review it still. But in the current state I feel it makes sense to reject this submission and hope for a new submission that incorporates those improvements.

Yaaay, I'm an active player now! :D (as of 11/9/2024) Thanks to TASVideos for the support, they're awesome.
I'm Asumeh, semi-expert SMB1 TASer. :) Check out some of the TASes I don't submit/upload to TASVideos on my YouTube channel, if you'd like. In progress: - Extra Mario Bros. (redo) (with HappyLee and w7n) - I'm currently assisting with finding improvements before the boss. On hold; we're currently struggling to confirm that we have the fastest route. Some debugging may also help with finding glitch exits, but neither of us are experts in that field. - Record my older TASes (excluding any obsolete TASes) and upload to YouTube.

Another thing I wanted to bring up as well: There is a chance that Guile may not do the Flash Kick when you first enter the room (down or up) after restarting; he may just do a simple jumping kick instead. Flash Kick, for comparison:

ruru-ta, can you check if the above suggestions can be incorporated easily?
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

At 03:35 the character clipped through the wall and fell down, then climb up a second time. I think climb up without falling at first time is faster. https://www.bilibili.com/video/av112760071455252/
