Released in Japan on December 1, 2016, in North America and Europe on December 2, and in Australia on December 3, the 3ds version of Super Mario Maker is an odd game release. For example, you can't share the levels you make online, despite the feature being present on the original Wii U version. But for what it's worth, there is a speed running community and the current WR of Super Mario Challenge (the category I'm trying to run) is 1 hour, 47 minutes and 26 seconds. Naturally, I wanted to make a TAS of this game, but I seem to be unable to do so. Here's the problem visualized with two videos. The first is live gameplay recorded directly with Bizhawk to prove that the game works. The second is a screen recording made with OBS to show that I have so far been unable to make a TAS. How did you pass the mii screen the first time?
"He who is tired of TASing is tired of life" Something Homer Simpson definitely said

Simple, I just downloaded Mii Maker, ran it on Bizhawk and, to quote Todd Howard, "It just works". --- Moderator Edit: Deleted the link to Mii Maker. Refer to the site rules:

Try setting Use Temp User Folder For Movies to false, you may have to delete the game data in the 3DS/User/sdmc/Nintendo 3DS/00000000000000000000000000000000/00000000000000000000000000000000/title/00040000 before re-opening TAS project
