It's for the ROM domain. You may need to reboot paused and enable the cheat on frame 0.
I did give that a try and had no luck. Is there a way to implement cheat codes working for the ROM domain as they do in other emulators. It is handy to be able to turn the cheats on and off as the game is running. I did find a work around, where I can patch the ROM externally with the game genie code and play that patched ROM. But it would be nice to be able to use the cheat window to turn the codes on and off for the ROM domain. I'm not sure how easy it would be to add that feature, but it would help me greatly in mapping out the games for snesmaps.com. Thanks again for the help!

Ah, my bad, I forgot that was still broken. Your workaround will have to do for now. If you'd like to automate it further I can help you write an ext. tool for applying patches.
I contribute to BizHawk as Linux/cross-platform lead, testing and automation lead, and UI designer. This year, I'm experimenting with streaming BizHawk development on Twitch. nope Links to find me elsewhere and to some of my side projects are on my personal site. I will respond on Discord faster than to PMs on this site.
Hey look buddy, I'm an engineer. That means I solve problems. Not problems like "What is software," because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of philosophy. I solve practical problems. For instance, how am I gonna stop some high-wattage thread-ripping monster of a CPU dead in its tracks? The answer: use code. And if that don't work? Use more code.

Thanks for the information. That explains why I was having so much trouble. I was able to download a program that will automatically patch game genie codes to a ROM so no problems there. However I map games for my sites at nesmaps.com and snesmaps.com. So whenever I map a new game I need to find codes to walk through walls and such to make the mapping project easier. Is there anyway to allow the cheats to work with the BSNES cores? I use BSNES for the Graphics Debugger since it makes mapping the game much easier.

I am able to set up Hotkeys keys to turn on and off the different background layers. However I am not able set any Hotkeys that work for turning on and off the different sprite layers.

I recently fixed that. Grab a dev build.
