Just so that people will see this, I've played to Toxic Seahorse, so I'll post a new video up to that point. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/419/Mega%20Man%20X%203%20%28U%29.smv And post your progress dammit FractalFusion. :P
How does the Neon Tiger damage thing work? It looks good. By the way, I'm busy as of late so I don't have much to show.

When Neon Tiger decides to jump or lands, his blinktime resets, though he doesn't stop blinking, but it's pretty much useless unless you use the Ice, which is very hard, and I guess it wont save that much time anyway. (You can hit it the frame he crouches when going for a jump and still damage it.) It's mostly to show that you can do it. Oh, and I seem to lack 1 frame in the Toxic seahorse battle, I even tried to copy your fight, but I couldn't get it too work, any idea why?

Don't hit Toxic Seahorse as soon as possible; hit him 1 or 2 frames after. Otherwise, it might be timing. After the initial hit, you should be able to put 6 Frost Shield into Toxic Seahorse without stunning him. Really nice run so far. Tell me, how much faster than nitsuja's run is your current run (up to destroying Neon Tiger), FractalFusion? And do you intend to submit it, or is it more like a test run? I think it's more than good enough to get published, if you keep up that quality. And I'm also a little confused as to how this is organized... Who will make the final run for this? Because both FractalFusion and Graveworm post WIPs now and then. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the final result! I've played this game a lot as a kid, and it gets funnier and funnier each time I see it get beaten faster and faster! :)

As far as I can tell, Graveworm is doing a 100% run, and FractalFusion is.. well, not.

The game doesn't count %'s, it's more like you must have all the items to be able to upgrade to the golden armor, but you could call it 100%, it's the same thing. Oh, and I never intend to submit anything, I'm just playing around. :) It'd be way to hard for me to do something that's worth submitting.

Ar, yeah. That's what I meant by 100%. If current quality continues, what's wrong with submitting the movie you're working on? It looks pretty solid to me.

Up to destroying Tunnel Rhino, the run is 1039 frames (~17 seconds) faster than nitsuja's run at that point. My Neon Tiger stage run is 734 frames (~12 seconds) faster. I'm currently in Vile's stage, accessed from Volt Catfish's stage.

Hehe, I did post a message, but it seems to have been lost. :/ I'm redoing the intro stage, but it seems like I lose 1 frame in the room where you save X, after regaining control of X. :/ Is there any secret trick to use to move faster in the air?

A neat glitch I found yesterday: http://rapidshare.de/files/8783678/mmx3vilebug.zip.html Could it be used elsewhere?

The glitch is the fact that when you're going crazy on the wall you don't get hurt, right?
Do not try to bend the spoon, that's impossible. Instead only try to realize the truth. What Truth? There is nospoon. Then you will see it is not the spoon that changes, it is only yourself

The glitch is the fact that he's taking damage when the ride armor is destroyed, so that he can move while Vile's hp is generating. Making it possible to hit it on the first possible frame, which does save a minor amount of time.

That, and I was able to "desync" the Ray Splasher from Vile's recovery, meaning I don't have to hit him up close and take damage. I already took damage, though. It's the damage from landing on the ride armor's arm that does the trick.

Wow, I just did some comparing, and does anyone know why this occurs? It's the same frames, well I'm a bit faster, but whatever. The left ones is from my video and the right ones is FractalFusion. Same position. If you look carefully, you'll notice that I'm a bit more to the left, enough to delay me for 1 frame. :/

Here is my run up to getting the beam saber and leaving the room: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/545/MegamnX3.smv My run is currently faster than nitsuja's run by 85 seconds. I also noticed while watching nitsuja's run that, with the beam saber, you can partially charge up special weapons. So you can use a special weapon, charge it up, switch to X-Buster, and fire a charged shot and beam saber. This will be useful later on. Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to complete the run before the new year, but I hope to get it done soon.

Most excellent. Keep up the good work and such. In the first stage, at about frame 11600, you don't alternate sides while jumping up.. is there a specific reason for this? Just thought it was odd considering it happens almost every other time. Cheers.

I mentioned before, but I only found out the mistake after I alternated sides later on in the level, and I decided not to go back. I don't think I lost more than 5 frames anyway, and I don't like jumping up walls.
