It says there is an error in the rom, and I get the "minus world" glitch everytime no matter what.

Do the CRCs match up? Sounds like you have the wrong ROM/a bad dump.

Actually, if this happens even without doing anything, make sure you don't have any game genie codes active. If you don't, it's very likely you are using a patched ROM...
