Despite Elec weapon being a foolproof method of gaining lag in Rockman1 (it causes lag even on an empty screen), I haven't been able to do the trick in Rockman1.

Of course. The maps are stored in pairs. Two stages per ROM bank. You can go from first map to second map by overflowing, but if you try to overflow from the second map, there's nothing there anymore because the pair only contains two stages. In Rockman 1: Cut--Wily1 Ice--Wily2 Bomb--Wily3 Fire--Wily4 Elec--Intro data Guts--Ending In Rockman 2: Heat--Wily1 Air--Wily2 Wood--Wily3 Bubble--Wily4 Quick--Wily5 Flash--Wily6 Metal--?? Crash--?? I don't know what the ?? parts contain, but there should be the intro screen, password screen, level selection screen and the ending scenes somewhere in there.

There aren't any ladders in Bubble Man's stage. It could well be that this particular kind of tile has simply been deactivated since it isn't required. Short of trying to shuttertech out of there a second time, there's nothing you can do. But doing it twice will most likely reset the game.

Since it's the stage number that matters, not Megaman's physical position in the map, it's not worth looking into. Edit: Hey... What's that? :o

If there's any use for that, it'd be that in the next stage you start under the bottom of the screen? Entering Metalman's stage instantly kills me to death, but Quickman's screen instantly scrolls me down. I'm not sure if the rapid scrolling glitch (Bubbleman's stage) can be executed like this, though (since I have no clue how it works)

Yeah Gigafrost. We already looked into all all 8 possible stages (including Wily 1), and it turns out Quickman's is the only one where it helps because that's a downscrolling room. However, Omega discovered a related trick that lets you start on other parts of the screen so we're looking into that now.

Quickman, Wily3 and Wily6 definitely. Crashman and Wily4 possibly.

Plus you can get in top of the screen after bubbleman boss and start zipping in wood man stage, but this would need route change...

Don't expect too much of it. Killing a boss while dying will cause you to start the next stage at the same height as when you died; albeit in the horizontal center. There isn't really any way to kill a boss at a large height, though, and it would require too much time to get your health down far enough. EDIT: Here's how to become invincible.

flashbug.fcm So, are those blocks from Wily6? Could someone (like maybe Bisqbot) look into this to see if it's possible to use heatbug again in the second room? That would certainly be easier than trying to fly around and use heatbug in Crashman's space chamber.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/589/flashbug2.fcm EDIT: the first screen that Mega Man ends up in is the boss intro screen. The second is the password screen (most likely). You can also enter the password screen at the far right side of the screen (the middle is impassable).

"become invincible" is nice. It is my expectation...
