Post subject: Any chance of an auto-avi dumping SNES9X?

Is anyone up to updating SNES9X so that it is much like FCEU, Famtasia, and Gens in .avi dumping? If I had any programming experience I would but since I don't, I rely on programmers who are familiar with entering this code into SNES9X's source code. I think it would be cool to be a little more lazy when recording these videos. Any progress would be great.

I don't understand the question. Doesn't snes9x have AVI making already?

yes, but a little more lazy just like, for instance, FCEU. When the .avi file gets to about 1.96 GB it creates another one so that it doesn't corrupt and you don't have to. Before that you had to estimate when the video dump was about 1.96 GB and create another avi file.

If you really want to be lazy in making AVIs you could just select a codec that compresses better (or lower the bitrate or quality of the one you're using) so the filesize won't get up to 2GB or even close to that. (As if I'm one to talk...)

yeah, but most of the videos I want are multi-hours long and I am making high quality MPEG-4 videos to play them on my DVD player, if anyone wanted to know why. Besides, what is the point for other emulators to support this and not SNES9X? By lazy recording I used "lazy" to describe how much easier it is to record avis and up until now I have questioned why not this emulator too. Also, all I'm asking is for someone to consider this and not to feel obligated.

because in other emus, the requested feature was implemented recently. I didn't know that feature was in Famtasia...

Notice how much easier dumping avis on those other emulators because you do not have to redump every so often, all you have to do is set one and it will take care of the rest until the movie is at a certain point, usually at the end, and you stop it. The only thing about Famtasia is that it will dump avis right away with no trouble but I really don't care about that. Sorry if I appear to be rude and know that I am not impatient so whenever it is out is okay.

Likely the only person who can help you is nitsuja. He hasn't replied back and I don't know why. As a tendency, a message that's been left alone is unreadable (you message is only slightly so) or nobody who has seen it knows the answer.

Well it takes some time, and I had other things to do. Anyway, the requested feature has now been implemented. See this thread.

Hey thank you very much, I'm sure I am not the only one who can and will appreciate this.
