OoT definitely had some brilliant boss battles. They were all unique, and you'd have to figure out how to win on the fly, or you'd get killed. Doesn't get much better than that. Zelda 2 for the nes was similar in that respect, but on a smaller scale... and 2 dimensional. FF6, that first Atma Weapon. Nuff said.

- The fights against Dr. Funfrock in the Little Big Adventure series, it was real fun going at him with the sword and having Zoé (your girlfriend) watch you fight - The boss fight from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening on the GameBoy, using the feather to keep jumping over his shots while shooting him to death with the bow.. awesome fun! - Also nearly EVERY boss fight from Final Fantasy 2 on the GameBoy (a game which seems to be heavily overlooked), as they are very atmospheric and not too easy. I remember beating beautiful Venus with grenades, because my stone spell would ALWAYS fail.. she had quite a lot of hp, that pretty girl. But not after I blew her limbs off :P Or stabbing Odin with the glass sword for a unique 1000 damage.. so sweet

Just a couple of bosses I liked: - The very first boss in Metroid Zero Mission (forgot its name). Sure, it was easy, but it was awesome how you get S3&K-style earthquakes, and you essentially had a time limit. - The Mushroom Hill Act 2 boss in S3&K. Loved how you had to avoid the mines AND Robotnik's jets AND hit him at the same time.
