Does anybody play it? When they say "kung fu" i thought they meant ye ar kung fu, but unfortunately it's that other floors game :P Is it only me or when you get to level 87 the game crashes? it happened to me twice... Don't you wish there was a long bonus level? :) 10 hits is too short, i end up having fun with hitting the items the regular enemies throw, it's fun

I recorded a speedrun of the game using the rom Yie Ar Kung-Fu (V1.2) (J) and it crashed on stage 39... (the music was still playing) i wasn't doing any kind of movement at the moment, except walking back and forth. i don't know what caused the crash edit: now i noticed the newbie post of 2 years ago, it's funny

Sound like there exist ROMs like 1.0 & 1.1. But can't find them. Found only this one Yie Ar Kung-Fu (J) (V1.4). Not sure if other Versions exist except these 2. Have you tried the other Version yet? When you have luck it will play good with your movie. If not, you must maybe start new, when the other Version will not crash at this point.

unfortunately, it desynced on the first level. (playing the 1.2 movie on the 1.4 rom) edit: i am speedrunning the 1.4 version now, and i can already tell it's harder, because the enemy doesn't stop moving when you behind him and you jump, so it doesn't seem possible to link some attacks like i did when i speedran 1.2. it's even hard to not lose on the first levels. i will edit later with the result. i got a gameover vs lang on level 49, at 36 minutes... : /

Man, that looks completely different from the C64 version that I used to play.

yes, it's completely different. weird because they were both released on same year. The c64 one looks like the arcade version. but even then, the graphics are different. The nes one looks like the MSX version.

i got a question about games like this an kage densetsu that have no ending an are a continuously loop of events. a TAS will be considerer of playing a cicle? or i will have to play it over and over and over? :s i mean, it'll be booooooooring to se and 40+ stages of the same game changing only the color palette :P instead of that a speedrun wouldnt be about 1 o 2 cicles? anyone knows if that improves the lv of the movie? playing a few loops or an endless movie.

If the cycles are identical, then one cycle is probably fine. But did anyone figure out that crashing stuff?
