http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1105/ http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1106/ Yay, or not. Fun fact: Everything after the ladder where I use 3 item 1's in the end of Air Man's stage is played with only 1 hand. One of the reasons to why it sucks, the other reason is because I don't know Rockman games at all, outside of console speedrunning that is.

Also, I havn't played the Quick Man stage, but is it not possible to use the flash stopper to avoid damage?
The problem is that if you use the flash stopper, the jumping tank spawns and covers an entire platform, and if you jump into it, there goes one life.

P.S. You are forced to use items in Rockman 2's Wily stages too.
I guess I forgot about that point. But at least in Rockman 2, you can suicide if you run out of weapon energy. Here, you may be permanently stuck.

I did a little movie of a thing in the Quickman stage, so I "played" up to that part, so I know how it looks now. And it seems like you've got to take some damage to not lose too much time.

This is pretty fun hack, there are 2 major things that bug me though. 1: WHY CAN'T MEGAMAN SHOOT WHILE HE'S ON THE GROUND!?!?!? 2: Music...

1. He can? 2. I like the boss intro music (after choosing stage).

You mean with items like the Metal Blade and Item1-2-3?

The game hack was not very good to me. Some stages were funny to see like the super woodman bros, but the others were repetitive and boring like the airman stage and metalman stage. The music change was the worst thing the hacker made.

This hack isn't horrible, but it falls back on a lot of standard (read: bad) Megaman hack "I can do it, too" ideas. I have to agree with Bisquit on that. For the most part, it's also not that difficult, but that was apparently the author's goal. Overall, I'm actually supporting Bisquit's refusal of the hack. A much better hack for a TAS would probably be the better-known Rockman Exile (I think a TAS of this was started, but sputtered and died), or the not-so-well-known Rockman Exhaust, which seems rather well-done to me. (Note: There's an FCEU movie of a normal run of the game there, but I haven't been able to watch all of it. The movie desynced when I tried to watch it with a patched "Rockman 2 - Dr. Wily no Nazo (J)" ROM. It will play through to the second Wily stage. I haven't yet figured out which Rockman 2 ROM the player used to make his movie.)

Ditto. Ultra just seems...I dunno...off. Throughout. :/

Odd...the movie played fine for me on a patched Rockman 2 - Dr. Wily no Nazo (J) rom. o_O I'd guess either your rom is actually bad, or Dhi updated the patch and changed something in the level structure since I made the video...<_< */me checks Dhi's site* ...v1.2? ...CRAP. >_< ...Okay, gimme a day or two and I'll play it through again, or something. Ugh. -_-

Whoops. I guess that's a "nevermind" on a TAS of Rockman Exhaust for the time being, since it's definitely unclear as to whether or not the hack is "complete." That really sucks. Something tells me that the level structure was definitely changed in a few cases. Watching the video, weapons were fired in entirely random patterns when no enemies were around, but I didn't think anything of it because it kept progressing through the game!

Yeah, I just used the password to skip to the Wily levels, and one of the blocks in the Wily 2 disappaering block section--the very block my Item 2 is supposed to run right into--seems to be replaced by a frog and moved to the 3 boxes right before the disappearing blocks. LOL. :p I didn't see any other changes when I played back the movie though...maybe he just changed some stuff in the Wily levels because of a glitch nobody else noticed? (Or maybe because he just felt like it. Heh. :p)

So the random weapon firing and suicides against Bubbleman were intentional? Christ, dude. :P

The hack has its good visual moments, but the gameplay plain sucks. if you are creating an ambience for each level, you should create enemies to support the concept, and this is just accomplished on two or three levels. A long ago i tried to create a good music hack, and in that time, the task seemed impossible to most of hackers around, that´s why the music hack really surprised me. The difficulty level is most of the time more boring than challening, this shows very clearly why you need a specific planner for each feature. I respect the work and effort invested, even so, i consider this, an unfinished idea.

If you jump back to the door in the Metalman fight, you access a secret area.

This can be done on all 8 robot masters in the original Rockman 2. It's just easier to pull off in Megaman Ultra because there's often more lag during boss fights.

I have yet to find a modified version of MegaRockman 2 that I like. Also, watch if you'd like to, I was bored. Nothing special, but someone might be so bored that he/she wants to see it. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1118/Rockman%20Exhaust.fcm

New "HACK/BETA/TAS" includes some fixes *Heatman played almost all again.. becouse of "up+down ladder tech in the beginning" *Airmanstage was improved a lot by new techniques "almost every zipping was improved and enemy shootings, i discovered new way to be faster in final zipping + i kicked Airman's ass hard" and i calculated everything to get fastest completing time http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1139/ i don't know is this "real TAS or what" i just enjoy to do "TAS" for this game...

I didn't noticed why i killed all enemies before zipping near the bossdoors... so i killed airfans only.. Airmanstage is now 69 frames faster by that + little improvements http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1144/Megaman-Ultra-TASv4-Shinryuu.fcm

Then maybe the Crash man stage I played didn't suck as much as I thought it did. ;D
