Super Mario Bros...you already know, so I won't go into that. Mario Bros., on the other hand, is a game that was made popular in the arcades and pizza joints of the 80's; P1 is Mario, P2 is his pallete-swapped clone--er, Luigi. The setting is a dank sewer, with 2 sets of pipes at the top and bottom of the screen, out of which enemies come from. Your mission is to, when the enemy is on one of the platforms, come at them from underneath by jumping and hitting it, knocking the enemy over, at which point you have a limited time to kick them off the screen. You might recall this game, since it happened to be ported in every "Mario Advance" game to date. I...am honestly surprised you don't know about Dragon Warrior in some form or another. Nonetheless, it is your basic menu-based RPG, with events happening in different places and times. If you're interested in playing one of these games, I suggest you go after DW4--parts one through three, while good, are plagued with this archaic "olde-english" which tends to be annoying. DW4 is the last, and most polished, of the NES games. (The series continued on the Super Famicom-- number 5, in my opinion, is better.

I think I need to accuse Famitsu's readership of bias.

Why? Because Japanese people like RPGs and Nekketsu games?

I am offended that Castlevania 3 is below so many digital piles of garbage. Also for Rockman 5 being above what is, in my view, the single greatest game in that whole "universe" (3). But, I am greatly pleased by the respect for Kunio-kun (although how in the hell Renegade is so far above River City Ransom is beyond me...), and that FF3 is so high. That is one of my all-time favorites in the series... BTW, Final Fantasy owes its life to being a damn good series of games, at least initially. Dragon Quest, on the other hand, owes its life to Akira Toriyama and Shonen Jump. </fanboy>
but then you take my 75 perchance chance of winning, if we was to go one-on-one, and then add 66 and two-thirds ch...percents...i got a 141 and two-thirds chance of winning at sacrifice

Ehh . . . the movie's fun if you've played Dragon Quest, but it's not a very good showcase of what the game is about. The short of it is that Dragon Quest was the first japanese RPG. It's basically a japanification of then-popular western computer RPGs - Wizardry, Ultima and the like - and it reached massive popularity due to mangaka Toriyama Akira's (Dragon Ball Z, Chrono Trigger, etc) involvement. It has spawned oodles of imitators and descendents, such as the entire Final Fantasy franchise.
