I just found another clue to the Crashman Bomb damage trick. Look carefully at this animation. It has two movies, both begin identically. The enemies are in identical position in both movies, and both shoot at the same time at the same place. Still, in the leftside image, the enemy is destroyed, and in the rightside, not. There definitely is something that affects enemies' weapon collision checking when Rockman takes damage from that particular enemy.

Has it given you any insight into what is going on?

Umm yeah, but it's not like the circumstances are hard to duplicate. http://bisqwit.iki.fi/kala/abc.zip (not guaranteed to stay permanently there)

finalfighter - Can you save any time by doing that? For example you don't have to switch weapons which seems to be good. But is it faster than the currently published material?

My guess is that this is a proof-of-concept that Quickman can be rapidly finished off with the air shooter, and the fight need not be done entirely with it. It was important, and difficult, to test whether or not Quickman could actually be manipulated for this strategy to work. Reason: For a while it has been known that the new run will have 2 or 3 extra crash bombs upon reaching the Quickman rematch. The potential here is to retain the same boss order, use bombs instead of P on Quickman, finish him with the air shooter (weapon ready for Crashman in the following fight), and thus save time while retaining the same number of weapon switches as in the published movie. Hope that made sense.

I like how this is progressing. I have always been a big fan of the first two mega man games because sliding is not part of the repetoire and it just seems like a lot more substantial glitches are abused which makes it a lot more entertaining. Keep up the good work!

OMG!! I have had those thoughts since Mega Man 3 got on the shelves in video game stores etc. Just that I have never spoken those words my self becuase it has been hidden in my brain!! Cheers for those words man! Not that I dislike other mega man games, just that mega man and mega man 2 are the best ones just because of the above facts!

Hello.. Folks I did some progress on Rockman2.. Bisqwit i guess you can try to improve something if _possible_ nahh.. Mechadragon battle is so hard and i wish it can be copypasted somehow. You may need Savefile to run this .Fcm file FCM : http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1311/ Savefile pack you need this : http://www.savefile.com/files.php?fid=4258302 it includes 0-9 savestates [EDIT by Bisqwit: Nevermind the above URL for FCM, use this instead: https://files.tasvideos.org/bisqwit/rockman2-shinryuu,bisqwit-pending-v2.6.0.fcm This one does not need savestates.]

Huh... I think it's just me, but I get major desyncs when I play this movie (or any of the latest Rockman2 movies)... Do we have a new version of FCEU? It desyncs right at the beginning (at the Start/Continue "Password" screen)...
