Is the time wasted in the first level part of the insanity?
is that all you can come up with? try watching the full video, and i know you hate ninja games, so why are you even commenting on this?

You have odd ideas. I love ninja games, and I've seen the whole video already. I was just wondering if the wasted time in the first level was part of the insanity.

and you're bad at trying to make sarcasm seem like a real question. no one is entertained by this, besides trolls like yourself.

Okay, we get it already. deepbluevibes likes his video and think it's very good. Some other people don't think so. He knows this already. Is harassing him about it any more really necessary?

i don't even think it's "very good" however in every speed run there are things that i can find to complain about, that are stupid, that look stupid, that waste time, etc. but the speed run as a whole is good. if you can't respect the speedrun for what it is, why even post negative things about it? if you really think it sucks that bad, you realize that by posting more in this thread, you're just giving it more attention right?

This run needs all the attention it can get. (Happy to oblige, sir.)

That's because you are concerned with only yourself and your unclever little run, here.

seems to me you're the most concerned here, as you constantly make trivial posts trying to undermine it :D

oh, also, this is a speed run yes, but it is not meant to compete with the top speed time. This is a glitch/entertainment video, meant to show ways to play the game that would definitely be 100% impossible (at times) without tool assist, such as the stage 2 boss or stage 3 midboss (hell, all of stage three's lab part), etc.
I had mixed feelings about it. I like pacifist runs, and this had a few surprises and other interesting things that we don't see in a full-speed video... the bosses, for example. That much I liked. I'd rate the movie is somewhere around B-, stylistically. There was a good human element to it; the ninja danced at one point. However, skipping the obligatory explanation of why "wobbling" is cliched/wrong, there seemed to be some motions that are repeated when something different could have been done. The... uh... zombie-looking boss for instance, you kicked in the head constantly. I don't know how necessary that was, but it was exactly the kind of monotony that needs to be overcome in order to make a pacifist run as worthwhile to watch as a normal run. Just my opinion, at any rate. Peace.

Thanks for one of the *only* insightful critiques of this video. I did the zombie boss kicking over and over because that is basically impossible to do on the real game maybe more than two or three times in a row by a human, because of two things; 1) when you jump kick most bosses, you get "sucked in" on 95% of thier hitbox. only 5% of the area you can hit them in will not suck you inwards for damage. 2) the hitboxes on enemies/bosses are HUGE. basically draw a square around any enemies, and round it off a bit.

Highly entertaining run. Me and a friend actually tried something like this one summer on a real genesis when we were little...needless to say we didn't fare anywhere near as well.

Hi everybody ! I'm a french gamer who loves specially the megadrive games and arcade games and i want to show you a replay input that i made for shinobi 3 with gens movie 9f. This replay concerns stage 1, 2 and the third before the mid-boss. I stop at this place because i was hit by the brains ant this replay is just a try for fun. However this play is made to show you a perfect play and perfect score with these conditions: - expert difficulty - start with 0 shurikens - no use of shurikens - no use of ninjitsu - all enemies killed - all boxes recolted (except the 1-up in stage 2 which means a lose of 10 pts .... sorry ^_^') - no damage taken (until the mid-boss of stage 3) - shinobi bonus (30000 pts) due to the fact of not using shurikens - perfect bonus (50000 pts) due to the fact of not using shurikens, ninjitsus and by not taking damage Here is the link for my file http://rapidshare.de/files/29763697/shinobi3-kilix.gmv.html so don't hesitate to make comments ! So last thing: enjoy my replay because I enjoy it to play with so much fun at this wonderful game !! ^_~ Edit: I forgot to mention that i have made this try without re-recording, slowdown or abusing of saves and other stuff .... all is made as if it was done on a real megadrive !

Then you appear to have missed the purpose of this site. Perhaps you should try it on a real megadrive, and submit it to speeddemosarchive.com.

Even if a bit off the mark in terms of TAS style-stuff, I think this is pretty cool. If you can ever manage a perfect full game on it...why not put it up on youtube or something? SDA might not work for the score stuff though, so I recommend www.vgmr.us Surely they'd like to have more fresh content.
