it's good that the small movies in this game can't be skipped... they're fun, it's annoying sometimes when movies are skipped in speedruns i think.

This can be done at nearly any time in the game. All it is is the Beak Buster move ('A' to jump + 'Z' to slam). Sounds easy? It is. This will only make you invincible from the time you bounce off the ground, to a little after you land so you have less than a second of invincibility.
This seems highly abusable.

Yeah And this: If anyone's having trouble collecting the Jiggy behind the ship's propeller in the allotted time, this glitch could help! When you're inside the Rusty Bucket ship, in the area with all the gears where the two propellor switches are, you can see a window on the left side. When you look through the window, you can see another room of the ship. While facing the window, move over to the left side of it, where the polygon line of the window frame meets the wall. Hold down Z and press A to do the wing-assisted flip jump, and press into that polygon line as you're jumping. If you did it right, Banjo will go right through the window! You'll end up in that other room, and when you leave, you'll be much closer to where the Jiggy behind the propeller is. It may take several attempts to do this, so keep trying, but it's not that hard. Incidentally, this glitch seems similar to my BK Snowman glitch...I wonder if there are other places in the game where Banjo can go through a polygon line where he normally could not go?

I'm also a bit surprised he doesn't mention that you can jump any time you're rolling, even in midair for longer jumps. Oddly, Donky Kong 64 has the same feature. Hey, if you can use the beak buster invulnerability to skip the fan slowdown switch, then pick up the notes in there by glitching through the window, you could cut a detour completely from the route.

I agree with the decision for route: Find Cheato books, but don't enter codes No Stop and Swap items This way having to backtrack and pound out all the codes in Treasure Trove Cove is avoided. This will make things a bit more fast-paced from level to level.

Who says you have to backtrack after each one? Enter them all at once when you fill in the Click Clock Woods puzzle. This has a side effect of refilling your eggs and feathers. Edit: When getting the honeycomb peice by the waterfall, did you test whether rolling off the platforms and doing midair jumps is faster than crossing the gaps normally? It certainly looks cooler.

I know I'm a little late, but good work so far with spiral mountain (considering you're using a keyboard as well). Don't give up on it, keyboard or gamepad, I'll still watch it. A little tip (although I'm not certain of it) but can you turn the camera with the c < and > keys? that could help making movement more accurate. Just an idea.

Mumbo's Mountain complete! http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1579/Banjo-Kazooie-TAS-Sami.m64 I use couple tricks: When I jumping with a talon trot i can slide and its faster as a walking with talon trot movement. When I take Jiggy in mumbo's house, I slide down when "victory dance" is on :) I hope you understand because my english sucks! :D

Your English sucks? If you say so, I don't agree. Definately not the worst I've seen... Anyway, brilliant progress.

I'm going to spout some stuff about Treasure Trove Cove now. Most of this is either obvious, useless or both but I should unload it all before your next WIP lest you miss something obvious that I would have unloaded. It is quicker to roll-double-jump between the shock spring jump pads on towers than to use the pads. You can talon trot jump up a slope onto the ledge below the shock spring jump jiggy. In the sand castle typing game, roll to the next letter unless it's right next to you. It's probably faster to snag the yellow jinjo from the air on the way up than on foot on the way down. You can pick up the mumbo token on Blubber's ship using a midair rolljump from above instead of slow climbing. I haven't tested if it's faster. I once hit Nipper twice in an attack cycle on a console. (maybe if you take damage in the middle?) PS Haven't watched the WIP yet. EDIT: The trick with Nipper is there's a spot in front of him where if you land after hitting him the first time, you can jump and hit again immediately.

Sami: Did you test if it's faster to leave the 5th jiggy you took until later, so you can take a detour to get it with the termite to avoid the dance animation?

It would have to be a 10 second difference for it to be faster...I haven't seen the WIP but one can guesstimate if it would take less than 10 seconds for the termite to get there. Hmm..

Don't forget R! Though you might need an accurate angle before R will really do anything for you. C-Down would be nice for adjusting the zoom, except I recall it makes some stupid slide whistle noise.

The jiggy animation takes about 250 frames so it's only 8 seconds.

It's faster watch dance animation. I tested it :) Termite is so slow. It take some time to walk Jiggy and you have walk back to the Jinjo Jiggy :p it takes about 8-10 seconds
