After watching the Eggerland video again I decided to try my hand at the GB Lolo games as my first TAS attempt. There are two versions of the GB game: the Japanese version and the European version. The differences are explained on this site as follows: "- compared to the Japanese version (50 maps total: 10 levels with 5 maps), the European version has a different beginning story, 95 more maps (145 maps total: 5 levels with 14 maps, 2 levels with 8 maps, 10 levels with 5 maps, 1 level with 3 maps, & 5 pro maps), a more practical solution-viewing option, Super Gameboy support, and for some reason, the BGM changes based upon the direction Lolo is facing and the type of surface he is standing on" I should also note that the (E) version contains much longer story screens. Anyway, I chose the (J) version because a) I'm lazy and probably won't even finish these 50 stages, and b) you get right into the puzzles faster. This current WIP ends after world 2 (Coffee Cup) is completed. World 2 is where it starts getting tricky. If anyone sees any route changes that could have improved it do let me know. I tried each level with as many routes as I could invent. Except 2-5. I still need to experiment with that one. And if you're curious, this is what the (E) version is like. The movie ends after level 1-5. If you really prefer this version, I'll kill the (J) version. Rom names: Lolo no Daibouken (J) [D6185941] (1Mb).gb Adventures of Lolo (E) [176D2EEB] (2Mb).gb

Heh, I suppose I'll look at this today. I tried the English version of this game once just as a test, but I didn't get very far. I bet people aren't eager to see more than 50 Lolo levels, anyway, especially when he moves so slowly. Just a couple of things to point out: In 2-4, you can save a couple of frames by turning the last Snakey into an egg while you're approaching it on the egg bridge rather than when you're already standing next to it. And in the English version, you don't have to use A to speed through Lala's speech; just hit B when she's finished walking to skip it entirely.
put yourself in my rocketpack if that poochie is one outrageous dude

Just got back from a camping trip, so I'll see if I can pick this back up again.

Good point. Guess I was getting lazy and not paying attention there. Have to redo a couple of those levels anyway though.

How I missed that is beyond me. I'll keep it in mind if I switch to the (E) version.

We have runs of Adventures of Lolo 1, 2, and 3 on the NES. But there isn't a single run on the Game Boy version. The Game Boy version was never released in North America. It was only released in Europe and Japan. I prefer the European version over the Japanese version, because of more levels. And what makes this version has the instruments change depending on what direction you're facing and if you standing in the flower bed.
