This game was brought to my attention a few days ago, and I think it could make an entertaining TAS. An example for a single level: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWl1UOlQh9c After a group of 5 levels you get a "remix" stage at the end, combining all the games into one with new music: http://youtube.com/watch?v=6wYmV_JdTUc It seems easy enough to make a TAS for, since getting perfect timing is pretty straightforward, no need for route planning or anything like in other games. At the end, it would basically be more of a demonstration video, but there enough variety in the games and music (8 sets of 5, plus the mixes) to stay entertaining. There are also some drumming minigames that might be worth adding to the run too, but not necessary.

this game is a lot of fun. but i think watching a TAS would take the fun out of playing it...

That may be, but personally I think it would be a bit like watching a music video.

Me too. And unfortunatly the songs tend to be on the catchy side....

This is crack of Katamari proportions. I want this game. A TAS would be mildly amusing. Maybe not the most exciting thing to watch, but kinda relaxing what with the music and all.

This is about as much of a TAS as Wario Ware. But this'll be much more fun to watch.

Man, i didn't realize a TAS of this game would be so long, well, here's a WIP that plays a little more than half of the main levels: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/2077/rythm%20tengoku%20-%20FODA%20-%20v1.vbm

I have a WIP on the last level before 7th remix, and it's 1:15 hour long. I just wondered though, that it would be better (still not sure if publish material), to start from sram, with all levels unlocked, and get a perfect on every level then, so the game is more complete.

Post your WIP so I can watch it and I'll tell you what's best.

funguy10, I'm think about your post that sound rude, you should really ask for something and not giving order. You just sound to me something like <<give>>

I just watched the WIP you posted earlier (ends at start of 5th remix) and I have to say that I'd prefer that you keep it as is, and that way we can hear all the tunes. If you started from SRAM with all the stuff unlocked, it would be a lot faster, but there wouldn't be much point in watching it -- it might show off all the minigame mechanics, but the point of these games is definitely the music, and there'd be a lot of that skipped.

Not really, it would play all the music, but in different order. And instead of getting a medal, it'd get a "perfect" for each music (because it would already have a medal for every song).

Sorry about that. Anyway FODA, could you post the newest 1:15 WIP so we can watch it?

I'm going to say don't start with SRAM, because then you risk playing a Remix before you've perfected the songs before it. And it spoils it a bit when you get a remake of an older game before the first version of it.

Ok, but the game only offers you the chance to get a perfect on songs you haven't got a perfect yet.

Well, unless you can manipulate which game appears next for the perfect choice, I would say don't worry about getting the actual "perfects", unless you REALLY want to do all the drumming sections too. (I think that's what you use them for)

I just watched this WIP and I really like it. I need to buy this game sometime. The quiz game wasn't very entertaining though. You should have made up a new rhythm with the right number of presses.
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster. I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.

okokok, here's the WIP: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/3537/rhythm%20tengoku%20-%20FODA%20-%20v3.vbm but make sure you buy the game, just watching it is not comparable to actually playing it! boco you're absolutely right. If i decide to submit i'll edit that part.

Actually, I kind of like it the way it is now, it just makes me laugh to see the guy sit there, and then all of a sudden press the buttons in the right order 43 times in under a second.

It could have both ways. I don't like much the "43 presses in 43 frames" because it makes such a loud noise. But it has its place.

You need to make a fix in the second monkey tapdance. (third if you count the remix.) Looks like there was a spot on a triple step that you slipped up a little. You'll know when it occurs because the quick scrolling background darkens for a moment. The tap sound is also higher pitched at the mistake.

That was great. Now I suppose you'll post the final version which plays the seventh remix and the 8th stage?

A rather simple rhythm based game only released in Japan (and recently its sequel Rhythm Tengoku Gold (aka Rhythm Heaven here in the states)). I thought it would be neat to get all the medals on the first run of each song. I've gone through the first six set of songs (each set ending with a Remix) until the credits start rolling. You can check it out Here Also if you just want to watch it check out my youtube links Note: First 2 minutes (or 10000 frames or so not uploaded to youtube as its really bland, you aren't missing anything just intro crap to get you use to the game) Note: Due to 10 minute limit on youtube I had to split some videos up (was going for each video = set so I have part 4a/4b 6a/6b) Entire run up on a PLAYLIST (Set 1) (Set 2) (Set 3) (Set 4A) (Set 4B) (Set 5) (Set 6A) (Set 6B + Credits) THe beginning (intro) is a snooze fest so I really didn't want to repeat it. Though I could eventually, I score a 92.6% going frame by frame I could never stay on the same spot for long though I didn't look into it much. Sometimes you notice after a song is finished a little box menu comes up pointing out a song, this is a another set of stuff you need to get on each song, Perfects. I avoid Perfects though in order to speed through game, otherwise I'd have to repeat songs which would be pretty boring to watch. Another thing to mention is there are actually two more sets of songs after the credits end. I have yet to do do these though, they are essentially just harder versions of older songs but messing with the timing and other things. Tell me what you think. EDIT: Sets 7 and 8 are done These happen after the credits and are just more difficult versions of past songs. Check it out Here or watch the videos off youtube (SET 7) (SET 8)
