The only megaman game i every really played was MM3 for NES. But I want to play anotherone and I am overwhlemed with how many there are! Which is the best? NES and SNES only please. I know it's a matter of opinion and all, but if there is a particular reason you like one over others please let me know. A new mechanic or something?
Majority of Mega Man fans agree that MM2 is the best Mega Man game in existence. For SNES, my favorite is probably MMX. I could write you a book about pros and cons of NES and SNES Mega Man's, but I'll just not do that.
X3 was the only one i ever really played. I've played all the sfc ones, and i think some of the fc ones. They're all pretty much the same, each one being a minor upgrade of the last.
I've got to disagree with you, since it's pretty much the opposite. Especially with MMX games for PSX/PS2.
I don't know if by a minor upgrade you mean new tricks Mega Man can execute or other things, but the gameplay and music suffer anyways.
Rockman, megaman... What was the answer to that by the way? I forget, is it just the japanese name?
MM2 huh? I will give that a try. Please tell me what consoles the MM you are talking about are on. Megaman zero?

I like MM6 because is the first megaman i played and is the more easy of all (Except by X5... THAT is easy).
I liked MMX2, X4 and MM7 too. I'm not a big fan of first 3 Megaman games because i can't play without some moves and EVERY TIME i die trying to do this.
You know there is a gamecube game what is like the ultimate megaman collection. Any of you guys seen/tried this? is it ok to play megaman on the Cube controller?

The Megaman/X Collection would be a good way to play all of the early Megaman games in one environment. However, the GCN controller feels far to difficult compared to the NES/SNES controllers, so you'll be fumbling around the buttons and triggers trying to do some stuff.

I like the last Megaman game in the original series. I think it's Megaman 7 (on the SNES). The X series is when it went bad, but's the only reason is they made the dash have its own button instead of down+jump! Argh!!!
(at least I think the X series is when that started ... could be wrong... meh.)

So... X series ruined Mega Man by making dashing more accesible, even though X and Mega Man are two different entities that were designed with different specs?
Do you think that Zero is to blame for the faults of Protoman?
I've played alot of Rockman 2 and Megaman X2, and even though Megaman X2 is the by far the videogame I've played most ever, I must say I never get tired of playing it, and at times I can play through it once a day for several weeks in a row.
For me, X2 is the most fun, I can't say it's the best, because I really don't know if I think so, but it's the one that I've had most fun with, and probably will for quite some while.

Wrong! they made it less accessible. On my SNES gamepad, I find it incredibly awkward to
dash, jump and shoot
at the same time.
But with the old method (down+jump to dash) I can
dash, jump, charge, shoot, and switch weapons,
all at the same time, with absolute ease.
Whoever who decided to chance the dash to a specific button AND disable the down+jump combination is, I'm sorry to say, an idiot.
It's not just about the number of buttons, it also about how much you need to move your fingers between those buttons. It' much better and faster to press 2 buttons you already have your fingers on than it is to move one finger on a button and then immediately move that same finge back to the previous position. Especially if that finger is not one of your thumbs.
