The link is an smv. You can get snes9x on this site and the rom of smw somewhere else and watch it on the emulator. It is hard to explain with words, but I will try. Above the key and to the right is a ledge. You have to grab a green shell and place it on the ledge. Then go on the tree to the right. Jump on the red koopa to make it pop out onto the ledge with the green shell. Grab the red shell and as the koopa in the green shell walks off the edge you have to walk off and jump off the koopa down to the key. Then open the key with the red shell. It is a very hard trick. I still haven't done it yet. One time I had it and if I would have just payed attention and held B I would have made it. This game would be very fun to do small. A full completion too, minus the impossible levels. It think it would make a very entertaining TAS. I would definitely work on one unless Jimsfriend is planning on doing one. He pretty much made up the small mario concept so I guess he deserves the right to do a run of it first. If not then I might work on it when I'm not too busy. Would any one be interesting in a small run? It would involve many more shell tricks and other crazy manuevers that is hard to do while flying although Fabian did an amazing job at doing that in his run. This isn't the place for me to be asking this but whatever.

If it's that hard, I probably am just fooling myself and you guys are right. I still would like to replay the game and see though... if i could ever find my smw cart!

I think it would be horribly boring and tedious to make. Not sure how often you'd have to use the 6/5 trick, but I can tell you it's very time consuming even in the easiest of situations. Anyway, I enjoy watching anything SMW related, and this hasn't been done before, so I'd definitely follow it with great interest if you or anyone wants to do it.

skamastaG, that sounds like a pretty ambitious project for your first TAS. I would really enjoy wacthing it and helping out with it though, it sounds like a cool idea to me. Just picture Fabian's Awesome, but in every level. ;) Also, if you're going to work on small stuff, maybe you can finally prove if corner boosting works on land or not. I swear you jolt forward a bit when you hit a corner just right, but maybe you dont always save a frame. Check out frames 31080-31111 in JXQ's 11 video (near the end of the dark room in Bowser's Castle, right after he gets the 1up). If you watch it using frame advance, there is definately a noticeable teleportation that occurs (though it's more down that forward in this case). Since this was done on accident, I'm guessing if you could do it even better if you tried to hit the corner in just the right way. Now we just need to finish/actually do some recording for our 11 run!! EDIT: I'm posting this in the SMW topic as well, since it doesnt really belong here.
