I sincerely liked this game and your effort. Nice work for your first WIP evilchen :) Liked how you took many hits in order to get up, move further etc. Keep it up and I'll definitely vote yes.

weird slept 4 hours now still tired but cant sleep anymore its just too hot outside angerfist: yo thanks that you like it but that enemy bumping might be a problem.. if i dont plan it well enough -> i have to start over bigger parts later ;/ up to riddle 3: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1430/James%20Bond%20Jr%20%28U%29.fcm - i wish there would be a faster way for upswimming in water it looks just noobish.. Ps:the left right looking thing on the ladder was just to get the soldier move enough that he couldn't hit me, ill check if he can get manipulated just to stand facing the wall which would cut of the second jump

Are you absolutely sure you could not either a) kill those fishes, b) take hit/s or c) just swim through them? Looked liked it but you know better than me.

- killing them takes the same time as just waiting some frames - getting hit would kill me (got 1 hp-block) - swimming through without waiting hmm that would be fastest but i dont know how to manipulate them or something like that, maybe i try it after this weekend(i either dont know about those HEX(wtf)-things to manipulate things or drop or something like that :/) thanks for your comment angerfist

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1830/whattheF.fcm maybe someone of you can explain this.. tried many different things but it still end like this - a blackscreen / game freeze iam not sure if i will continue this project because of some things like less interests from others for that game - also i think i've done a shitty job with that :(

Hello TASVideos! Sorry about the bump. I have been watching your fantastic videos for quite some time (maybe 1.5-2 years?) and I've decided to actually try and make one. I must say that you guys make it look very easy! Anyways, here is my WIP on this game. criticism would be appreciated! http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1449766612/james_bond_jr.fm2

Bumping old threads is always okay if you have something new top contribute to discussion. Using Autofire is bad habit in a finished product. You have a 50% chance of losing one frame every time you do something with it. Unless you can prove that there is a two frame window that the button results in the same completion, you should always find the exact frame. What does the passcode do? Passcodes are generally frowned upon unless they are well justified. Does it raise game difficulty? That's one of the few good justifications. Health Planning seemed okay, though it seems like you might have died later than you could have. Death seems to be productive to gain health and save time. The damage boosts seemed pretty good from inspection. I actually have never seen this game before, so I can't really say anything about how optimal it is. I don't even really know the goal of the game. You should check out the other runs in this thread and see how you compare on a frame by frame basis. The game is alright, probably publishable if it is fairly short, and depending how variable further gameplay proves to be.

I'm not using auto-fire I am doing it all frame by frame, I don't know an effective way of finding the first frame i can input. The password starts the game on level 1 of the second quest. (After you beat the game once it sends you back to the start similar to ghouls n' ghosts) The death seemed like the fastest spot to stay on path since it reloads you were you jumped from, or in water wherever you entered it from or at a breathing spot. I looked at evilchen's old WIP I improved on some if not most of it.

I usually pick a frame in the middle, see whether or not that works, cut the search space in half, pick half of the rest, pick half again, etc. It takes a bit, but once you get used to TASing you can mash through the buttons pretty fast.

Ah okay, so is the second quest harder than the first presumably?

If you expect to get published, you should improve on all comparable sections. (If you lose time in one spot solely due to the fact that you gained time in another spot, this is okay.) You should be able to pick reference points and compare sections. For example just compare times exiting given rooms quantitatively. Seems like you have the right idea.

oh hi! i have watched your wip and noticed i did some stupid errors but iam still wondering why you dont use the ladder glitch to skip some jumping here and there also some of the rooms are faster because you skipped some enemys but that might be ok if you have enough bombs in the end (i planned on killing the mini bosses/boss with them) you need to enable up+down and left+right for the ladder glitch here a reference wip from me: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1098913945/James%20Bond%20Jr%20%28U%29.fm2

Sweet, Thanks evilchen! I did not know about the ladder glitch, I played with it a bit and in some rooms you can leave through the ceiling (into the room below) I will have to find a use for that. I re-did most of the run I posted above but kept getting screwed by an enemy, but this glitch gives me hope!

I don't think its any harder, it only allows the end cut scene. EDIT: New WIP, all bombs disarmed. will prolly go back and fix up the water part from bomb 4-5. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/999864762/james_bond_jr.fm2

Since there are no news about this TAS, I began to make one and after 13219 frames of movie (3:40), I improved the last WIP by 842 frames (14s). Here is the WIP, 3 bombs disarmed. Around 510 frames of the improvement are made by exit the bombs puzzle earlier by pressing start at an exact frame, this save around 170 frames each time.

Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

*Opens up my RAM address vault* Hmm, seems like I only have 2 addresses for this game: 0012 X|rel|pix 000F Scr|X *closes the vault*

This game has second quest. That only can appear the last boss. So using the password is better. I knew this after I complete mission 1,so I give up. This game's run need good damage management. I have a WIP in school. Edit:Having watched these WIPs,and suggestion: 1.All the puzzle game can be completed in 6 steps. 2.The bullet should be better managed, the first big sunglass man can drop a bullet, that should be picked up. 3.Right death management.Restarting a life have a power overwhelming time,it can get through the bomb on the ground. Nice glitch from the WIP I see from yours, good luck.
Do the work.
