not sure if this is entirely the proper forum to post this in, but... is there any possibility this site would archive longer game runs (such as 1+ hour-long games), or unusually elite performance of endless games? I guess some examples would be RPGs: "Dragon Warrior", "Destiny of an Emperor", long action games: "Blaster Master", and unending games: "Tetris" For instance, in my experience, "Destiny of an Emperor" takes about 12 hours on a "normal" run. If fast run could be done (say, in 8 hours) would it be considered for the site? I suspect the answer is "No". However, I figured that it couldn't hurt to ask.

Well, one of the movies (smb3 full) takes over an hour, so hour long movies should be fine. However, I'm pretty sure 8 hour movies would not be accepted. Unless they were really awesome, but I don't think any movie could be entertaining for 8 hours.

An 8 hour speed speed run would take an extremely long time to make.

And the spectator would bore seeing the same game for long time.

I think two hours is the absolute longest amount of time I can spend watching someone else play a video game.

It also depends how good the video is and which game it's. If there was an N64 emulator that had re-recording and someone made a perfect OoT speed run I wouldn't mind watching that, even though it would be about 5 hours long.

I have a video of it (well, the Japanese version - Tenchi wo Kurau) being run in 5 hours 44 minutes 31 seconds, in VMV format (with 0 rerecords). So it's possible to get it under 6 hours, probably much much lower with rerecords for avoiding random battles (the game is entirely beatable without ever fighting a random battle - you end up at level 39).

Can you share your source?

Maybe the video should be splitted so people can resume the video later.

http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-Denei/3370/Capcom.htm It should be the 5th down. The screenshot link is a black & white CAPCOM logo. As the video is primarily a no-miss video, extra precautions are made to ensure that no party member ever dies (such as frequent use of inns, slow combat descisions, extensive use of items, etc). The video isn't optimised play at all, and a lot of time is wasted in menus or in non-omptimal paths. But it's the whole game in 5 hours 45 minutes. I've also always run the game in 10+ hours.. but I never didn't try to recruit every possible general along the way, so... ^_^;;;

I'm humbled by this guy's good luck (and/or skill?)... :( And, after having watched an hour of that video before speeding up the game to 450fps.. Yes, I can see why a 2+ hour video would be boring. :)
