Bag of Magic Food: What's so great about Rapidshare? Its good for relativley small files, I don't know why your trying to suggest its bad (or something relating to that). The download speeds I get are greater than any other upload/download server I've experienced. I think maybe because it German and I live in Europe, thats maybe why it good for me, but it does impose limits which is strange because in the blog it says that its rarely anywhere near capacity. Plus you don't experience the popups like you do on megaupload. FileFront is probally the best for uploading huge avi or equivalant format files, but the download speeds suck major, and thats even if you have an amazing connection speed. Although its more to do with being overun, when someone recently uploaded something I wanted to download, I got pushed away because there is so many people downloading it all at once that I was getting 850 bytes per/second and would have to wait 44 hours, but the next day I got 150kbs and only had to wait 10-15 mins. Aside all that the 2p run is cool, was the 1p run the good ending because I wasn't sure? I also wasn't sure if it was a definitive last in the series game. How does a 2p run work anyway, the only logical way I can think of is frame advance and holding possibly up to eight keys at once, which would take forever. My only complaint is that sometimes has the impression of one person playing, maybe I'm wrong to say this but I think the boxing in still punches could have been used more. Does the game end like the other two where your forced to fight each other? If so then what will be done because it would be boring to see one player quickly disposing the other, I remeber playing them back in the old days and boasting to your teamate about your superiorority after you beat them after the final boss. Thanks Qlex it was very useful doing that for me.

AKA : Yes the 1P one has the good ending (the bad one sucks) It wasn't supposed to be a definitive last in the series, but SoR4 got cancelled (it was planified for Dreamcast) so SoR3 is the official last game of the SoR series (there are other games made by fans shown on wikipedia, but they're not finished). About the 2P method, well, you might ask atro city about that, he'll give you a good answer, I'm sure ;) . NO, thank to god, for speedrun's sake, in the end you cannot choose to fight against each other. Besides, in SoR1 you were able to choose not to fight against your buddy. No problem about the link, but I just didn't understand at first place that you wanted a rapidshare link. Just let's not fight for this here (I personnaly don't care).

Wrong, it's actually better for large files, because it has such a high download speed.

How does a 2p run work anyway, the only logical way I can think of is frame advance and holding possibly up to eight keys at once That's what I thought, too. But in reality the most keys I've ever held down simultaneously (not including the frame advance button) was four, but that doesn't happen often. The real headache is AI manipulation, not multiple button presses. And yes, I did the entire run using frame advance. maybe I'm wrong to say this but I think the boxing in still punches could have been used more Do you mean what I did against Bruce and Roo? Up until then, there was no real advantageous opportunity to use it, and afterwards, I discovered the 2P downward attack bug, which is much faster. Good news and bad news... The bad news: I haven't touched the run for a few weeks now, partially because of summer school, and partially because of being tactically stumped on what will be the fastest way for the next area. The good news: Should the worst-case scenario happen (me not getting any progress during summer school) I will have a break during August where I definitely WILL make progress before fall semester starts.

Well, I feel obligated to post something to let you guys know I didn't keel over or anything. Unfortunately, summer school was busier than expected. Damn 5-week classes that teach a whole semester's worth of material... I haven't even touched the run for a long time now. But to make up for it, I'm going to guarantee that I'll have Stage 4 Scene 1 done when I get back online on August 20th. And after that (at least up to the Yamatos), there's going to be some real progress. For the Yamatos, I'm going to take my time to make sure that it's every bit as entertaining as I've hyped it up to be. After all, you guys deserve it after waiting over a year (May of '05...wow, time really flies...) on my slow ass since I started the 2P run. And to think, I was supposed to have this finished last summer.

All will be forgiven once the run is complete. :) Hope you can get past stage 4 soon, it's always though when you get stuck somewhere boring and lose your motivation because of it.

Bad news... ... ... ... ... Just kidding! In fact, I've got a surprise for you guys. I'm up to the Yamatos! If you like clever AI manipulation, you'll like the updated portion, because there's a lot of it. As predicted, Blaze's sword completely raped the ninjas and put me two full minutes ahead of my 1P run. Forgot to make a savestate right at the beginning of my progress, so I guess the beginning of Stage 4 will have to do.

<3 The Stage 4 scene 2 was sooo cool! I'm glad you finished that hard part of the run, and I hope you will finish the run, no matter how long it will be. Actually I won't have internet for a long time, but the good thing is that I'll see some progress again when I'll get back. Keep it up!

Fantastic, absolutely entertaining. That's all I can say because it left me speechless and you don't need my advice since you know exactly what you are doing for an excellent 2P run of a fun beat 'em up (damn ramblings of mine, oh well).

I have to agree, this run is quite promising in the least. There is a lot of entertaining parts, especially boss fights. By the way, could anyone remind me if Roo is an efficient character? I remember having fun playing as him but I don't remember the details (not surprising given it was over 10 years ago).

Roo is about as efficient as Skate is. In other words, not at all. Glad you guys liked the run up to this point.

Bleh, I'm stuck. The more I look at the current progress (2/3 through the first Yamato), the more dissatisfied I am with it. Sometimes the music gets cut off by Zan's constant yelling, and other times it just doesn't flow well. Unfortunately, I can't think of any way I can make it better, so again, I'm stuck. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Awww... that's why I don't like Zan =/ Sometimes Blaze's silent yelling can cut off Zan's, but I'm not sure about it, and I'm not even sure that you hear the song during the process. Actually I can't see the run right now, but I definitely will. Okay, I like creating entertaining things in my TASes a lot, so I'll give you a few tips : If you have nothing to do, then dance. For that, find the song's rhythm (I think this one's 150 beats per minute) and think about how many times you should do something fun (Say, walking non-stop and changing direction every step is cool IMO), so you calculate (150*4=600 steps per minute, 600/60=10 steps per second, 10/60=1/6 steps per frame, 1/6*6=1 step every 6 frames, so one direction change every 6 frames, or one punch every 6 frames, etc... your choice, although I think that every 2 steps (12 frames) would more understandable), then make some tries with it and see if you are satisfied with it. You can also make a more complex dance, by writing down some kind of choregraphy. If you are used to calculating (as I think you completely are), then this shouldn't be a problem. I don't know if you "juggled" with Yamato, using his stupid AI to make him dash away from Blaze to Zan (or the contrary), but I did this when I did a 2P real-time run with my brother, and we laughed a lot from it. That's all I can tell, be patient and think a lot about this fight 'cause it has the best entertaining potential ever. I'm really looking forward to it. Keep it up and good luck.

"Zan's constant yelling" Makes me smile. Wears on the ears after awhile, but a "problem" like this doesn't come up much in normal play, IMO, and is amusing. I wholeheartedly support dancing in this, and in all TAS movies. The aesthetic skill shown in this movie up to this point has been well above par. I have nothing of any real use to say, though, so I think I'll stop talking.

If you have nothing to do, then dance. That's exactly what I did, hence why the music getting cut off is a problem.

Looks pretty nice so far although you should've used some more team-up attacks (especially the backhold kick) and shortcut powered up dash attacks (the ones performed with X, Y and Z that you'd normally need the stars for). Also you should've used the Japanese version mostly because of the original colors instead of the ugly changed ones and no retarded outfit censors. Also because Ash is funny.

There aren't a whole lot more places where team attacks would be appropriate other than the ones I've already done. I actually did use upgraded blitzes (and useful downgraded blitzes later on like Zan's 1-star dash) quite a bit throughout the run. That's been discussed. I chose the US version because it's exponentially harder than the Japanese version.

Yeah but in this case, increased difficulty just leads to overly lenghty enemy lifebars and it gets tiresome to watch.

I don't really see where (with the exception of the Roo/Bruce fight) the run got tiresome because of lengthy lifebars. Guess it's just a matter of opinion. However, it's a tad too late to start over anyway.
