what about it? i think a run of this on medium to hard difficulty would look damn good. the combos are hard to do yet look sweet, cpu can be very challanging at times and of course, the ultra combos ^^. who could forget them. i tried to play this game normaly and i honestly wont be doing a run lol. i got my ass kicked hard at medium skill. however what i did manage to do was make small recordings of each characters ultra combo. if anyones interested i will post a link to them.

IMO it would make a boring run. It's quite long and since you would be using the same character the whole time, it would get boring. I honestly don't see the point of fightning game time attacks. Besides, on the hardest difficulty combos are pretty much useless because of combo breakers. The computer lets you land like 4 hits max and then breaks it. The combos aren't that powerful, either.

I would also like to see a perfect run through the game. I always enjoy the way uuuuuuultraaaaa combo or ultimate combo is said ;) . I played Killer Instinct Gold for the N64 a lot, I also own KI for SNES but, sorry I am not that good with it so that I could try a run :/. Look at these very impressive combo videos like an 80-hit combo by Jago or Orchid :o : http://www.killerinstinctonline.cjb.net (Click on: Killer Instinct/Combo Videos).

The point would be to show off a variety of difficult combos and glitches. Any combos that involve specific-frame timing, in particular, would be great to see...stuff like Guile's multiple Sonic Boom combos in Capcom vs. SNK 2. Dunno if older games have anything like that, though. -Josh

The computer lets you land like 4 hits max and then breaks it not necessarily true... i haven't really played it since it was releases for the snes (94/95?) but i distinctly remember there being a ton of "manual" combo variations where you chained a series moves together at certain points of the combo which had to be done manually... (ie no free automatic hits) thus the a.i. doesn't think that you're really whoopin it's ass ;p

Yep, unbreakable combos do indeed exist for every character. I know of some people who actually play this somewhat competitively, and that's all they ever use. -Josh

i dont mean to sound to negative but the same could be said for any run. look at mega man x. all you do is run to the right and shoot. how boring is that. it all depends on how the author puts his work together which makes it stand out or not.

Well I guess this is just a difference of opinions. Personally I find shooting and running to the right a lot more entertaining than doing the same combos on the same character over and over again.

there arent really enough combos per character to make the run very interesting. sure, an assortment of medium to high skill combos and victories, along with flawless victories and quick times, WOULD be interesting. go ahead and try the run. i dont think youll dig the outcome too much, but theres only one way to find out.

I'd watch it. Perhaps a run with Eyedol? I want to see a good combo with him.

Eyedol would probably make for the fastest run because of his power, but would he have much variety in attacks and combos?

I don't think he is the fastest really. I think there are some juggles that others can use in order to do 100% damage. Perhaps Eyedol has this as well? I never really explored much with him. His variety won't be that great, and we won't get to see any nifty ultimates or ultra finishers. However since Eyedol is activated through Cinder this can be used to variate stuff. Not sure if there is any other way to get in contact with Eyedol as a playable character. Also I think that hyper active mode should be used in order to break this game faster. This can be done before every battle as far as I know, by rotating the controllers D-pad counter clockwise I think.

I'd love to watch Cinder/Eyedol combined run.

Yes, there is a cheat to play as Eyedol and to make the game way faster (different levels of increased speed). AND there are MANY MANY different combo's many of which you probably haven't seen. Loads of unbreakables too (which frame advance would add to). In addition there are "broken combo's" aka "resets", which adds even more variety. Infinite combo's also exist for many characters. As for speed: Jago, orchid and combo come to mind. They have massive damagin combo's and full screen attacks/combo starters. I can do most of the combo's normally, so the combo's wont be hard for me to accomplish... However in theory, it is true that it may become somewhat reptitive. Oh... and eyedol has a crazy infinite. The fastest gameplay cheat:- Hold left + L + X + Y on the VS. screen. Regarding the combo breaking CPU: There's also a cheat to turn off combo breakers so the CPU cant do them =D

Would you please care to make us a WIP antd? Since you seem to have great knowledge of the game etc you should be most able to create a very funny video of this game. :)

Would a run where you used the guy that can morph into the others be ideal? It would be a different combo for each fight :D

Interesting.. but only the end of the combo will be different... also the guy your talking about (Spinal) doesnt have many moves and so in the long run he is bound to be more repetitive than other characters. I'll make a vid of spinal too. In the mean time have a look at my Jago vid.

hehe thanks, fighting games are my speciality =D I've put this little thing together to see what I can do: Fight 1, me as Jago on hardest difficulty and fastest speed cheat. The Vid is 20MB --- 1 minute long --- sorry dont know about compression ;) http://s7.11mbit.in/96dz1g3DEOt45jlmnwblm1xcmnJy8eoy49nxyd9Jpz5fBq5fBhr12Bhr/ImeNt3Ds EDIT: 2MB FILE HERE =) http://a1.11mbit.in/wNGd9Jp01JydnxFP9EF2hr1gLzf2cHw6ku4EOu4js2Crs2hregp49nyc/39oNFPv5 Tell me y'all think ;) I would love to make a proper tool assist with all the bells and whistles. Comments needed! I found out with luck manipulation the CPU cannot break any combo's ^_^ The best thing however is psuedo combo's. Simply because I input the moves so fast I can chain my own unbreakable combo's. An example of this is in the video where I chain 3 windkicks together. (windkick= the flying leg move). This is otherwise impossible, just too fast... With my playing around I'll undoubtedly find other moves like this!! Can't wait. KI ownz ;) Or maybe someone else is more suited to making a tool assist of this game? I havent made anything before.... only my own pleasure stuff... I'm still gonna make this though :) I think Jago is a bit too repetitive in the sense he has only 2 special move combo starts. A character such as Orchid has many more combo starters and I believe she would be more entertaining to watch. She also has crazy reset combo's. I'll be sure to make a match vid using her too see what you guys think.
