That's very strange. Is there any reason why it can't play by the rules of hexadecimal?
It crashes after level 0xFF. I challenge you to find something that plays by the rules of hexadecimal better than that!

What about Animal Crossing, I think there is a japenese N64 game of it. All it would be is constantly changing the ingame clock and date and spending endless re-records trying to manipulate luck late on, plus the game would take about 30 at least to obtain every item in the game and pay off the dept, plus you would have to set up other simultanous games so you can get certain items or events to happen like upgrading Nook's store. I wouldn't be surprised if anyone considers doing that.

I actually don't think ChessMaster is pointless, although it probably is from an entertainment perspective. Finding the fastest way to beat a chess player when you know exactly what move they will play next is an interesting computer science problem, somewhat different to an unknown opponent like the traditional chess algorithms. Melissa
It is possible, on the lowest couple of difficulty levels, to go like this: White:Human Black:CPU 1. e4 e5 2. Qh5 Ke7 (by luck manipulation) 3. Qxe5# I made a movie of it sometime ago.

Dance Dance Revolution and/or Guitar Hero. You could TAS it, but have fun watching everyone else finish in exactly the same time. :P (is there a version of ddr on a system with a rerecording emulator?)

LOL best one so far.. that's really pointless there is a mod in stepmania (for PC) that hits everything perfectly, getting an AAA in the end.

There's a DDR for N64 (Disney thing)

Harvest Moon 64. It's an entertaining game to play, but watching someone farming for a few hours would be downright boring.

Any soccer, football, basketball, hockey game etc. To be completely optimised you could only score one point/goal to win the match. Any more would stop the game clock and cost more time. Effectively, you'd score once and then waste the clock away.

Heh. You guys haven't scratched the surface. Battleship Duck Hunt (If you could record the shots anyway.) Jeopardy Pictionary Wheel of Fortune The thing is, as ludicrous an idea as most of those are, with the exception of Battleship and Duck Hunt, there actually is a smidgeon of logic behind doing one, namely luck manipulating so that all the answers are the shortest possible. They'd just be really boring to watch.

1. New game. Enable autoplay. 2. Play era (nostalmix) doubles another. (rediculous) 3. The game will autoplay and have a perfect $200,000 score. Boring. 4. Go back, turn autoplay off, and restart the song. 5. Play perfectly for the first half. 6. During the slow down, while continuing to play perfectly, also hit the extra notes required to play the Happy Birthday song. 7. During the ending, while hitting the last three notes perfectly, hit extra notes to play the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme. 8. Use the extra notes from the TMNT theme to reduce your life gauge to 80%. 9. Score $200k plus the legendary border+perfect bonus for a total of $211,400 points. You just beat autoplay! Mario Paint was also supposed to be impossible. :)

I think mario paint would be fun if you see a really accurate full drawing of something that fills up the screen withing seconds. Still it would be just some kind of documentary.

Hehe, you could do the flyswatter game in Mario Paint. Of course, the problem with mouse games is that they have a wide possibility of inputs per frame, so it's trivially easy to move the cursor ridiculously and not look anything like mouse movement. Duck Hunt is retarded for the exact opposite reason: the input of the Zapper says just says whether you're pulling the trigger and whether the Zapper sees green. Basically, you just send "I hit the target" input to the game, not even X/Y coordinates. Most of the people here probably knew that though. Melissa

I would love to see someone paint the Mona Lisa in Mario Paint in record time. I guess, you technically wouldn't need artistic skills, you would just use a predetermined image, and note where all the pixels are, and copy the pixel locations. I'm not familiar with Mario Paint, but something like this might be feasible? Or you could make it consistend, and have the fastest time to draw a predetermined/complex image such as the TASvideos logo, or something relevant to our community (tiger robocop!).

That would be impressive actually. It wouldn't hold attention for any great length of time, but perhaps a five or ten minute video of really quirky and clever pictures would be interesting. Perhaps the sort of thing to go in the hacked videos page?

Heh. There's actually a Game Genie rom floating around. A TAS of that would be the absolute epitome of pointlessness.
