You could hack FCEU to make it emulate an infinite Game Genie stack and see who create something that resembles a game the fastest. Although, I am not sure of the feasiblilty of this from both an emulation and sanity standpoint.
Many people made requests for those games.

If you search in rejected submissions page, you will find a movie of that game.
I would like someone to TAS "Palette Test by Loopy". Note that Famtasia doesn't pass the test so use FCEU. :P

To be honest, i always thought that any game that could not be completed and quality of the player is based entirely on the high score would be a pointless TAS.
Acmlm's Tetrisphere is pointless by this logic.
It is not a TAS, but a TAHS (Tool-Assisted High Score).
However, this movie is impressive to watch and he generally takes the game for a ride.
But it isn't a speedrun because it takes place within a time period that is unalterable.
Pointless?
Some of the Angband Competitions have worked around this issue. While most competitions use "victory in fewest turns" as the primary winning condition, there are some cases where there is no victory or there is a tie in this regard.
Some of the competitions then came up with an "Experience/Turns" rule, which encourages fast play. Since the amount of experience gained is rate-limited (you can only kill so many monsters per turns, and experience gain slows as you gain levels), the victors will generally be the ones that advance as far as possible.
As you know, some scenes in Super Mario Bros 3 are auto-scrollers which perform at a fixed rate. The rules in these cases is to be as impressive as possible (e.g. perform acrobatics, get 100% kills, or "insane" stunts). The same applies when you have the entire game locked under a fixed-progress rate.
The mission behind TASVideos is entertainment - even if you finish Urban Champion in 1:23, you still need to make the game interesting to watch.

I think that as far as TASing these games goes they should definitely be avoided unless very special.
While TASing games with the intent of a high score, i'm thinking (this is more relevant to older games and mostly impossible on N64 in relation to tetrisphere) is that all games will have a high score threshold.
By that i mean that the scores can only get so high before returning to 0 or crashing the game in some form or another.
Then shouldn't this be the ultimate outcome of a high score TAS? In this case the game would be 'complete' in a sense. If this outcome is not reached in the TAS then would the high score TAS not be pointless?
This actually got me thinking so I did a bit of research. According to a FAQ on gameFAQs the three longest titles are all under the PHRASE category and are:
It's The Next Best Thing To Being There
Don't Start Something You Can't Finish
There's no such thing as a free lunch
Although I didn't account for such things as having the most consonants, which would be the ones that actually get you money.
So what you'd have to do is luck manipulate to get the longest answers possible. I have no idea whether you can manipulate it to get the same answer three times, or if you can manipulate to get all three of the above, or if you can only manipulate it to use a group of three, which means you have to figure out which group has the most consonants between the three answers.
You'd also have to manipulate so that every round they use the $10000 square as the bonus square.
This should all be possible but unless someone manages to hack the code like with Monopoly it would be very difficult. There are over a hundred possible answers so luck manipulation would be a pain.

One of them was Gyromite! You might be able to get an interesting TAS out of the two player mode, where one player controls the pistons, and the other controls the guy.
The other mode sucks because I believe it's a fixed scrolling speed puzzle.
I actually made a TAS of the flyswatter game a while back. It was to test the mouse rerecording support that was added to ZSNES. If you search the forum you will be able to find it.
lol is there a TAS of duck hunt here? as i am interested in seeing a) when it ends
or
b) when it crashes due to technical issues involving duck speed and/or level number.
Don't know if that's been mentionned before, but the most pointless game to TAS would definitely be Harvest Moon. It has to be.
Untrue. You could get the highest possible amount of money/food in the shortest amount of time. It's equivalent to Sim City, except with a time limit.
Yeah but basically you HAVE to do 2 full years for the game to end. Even if you slept all days up until the end of the game, it would take a very long time. Plus, it would be incredibly repetitive. The same actions over and over and over and over again...

I thought that was why everyone loved the game.
Either way, it stands that you could do Harvest Moon as a High Score challenge mixed with the time constraint. Find out the highest theoretical amount of money you can make in the game, and then do it as fast as possible. I know it will just make for a day or so of chopping/smashing, followed by day after day of slowly growing crops until you can sell them or throw them at your horse, but it could be worse!
Also, copy/pasting days' worth of input to make each week identical is against the rules. Furthermore, no woman wooing, house expanding, or festival part-in-taking. This is strictly business!
